  Just for interest sake the new "Stanley FatMax 8m Next Gen Tape Measure" has a 4m standout where the tape measure in this deal is only 3.3m and most tape measures are FAR less. Note: this comment is not in the Ozbargain spirit :-)

        Decent measures with good standouts are one thing, but a lot of cheap tapes are wear badly, fail or break easily and many don't even have a the body length printed on them, let alone stand independently when you need to leave them unattended. Not sure if these particular tapes are up there with the best, but they look to have a lot of those things licked.

        Good on Blackwoods & Sydney Tools for a fair deal on one of the better tapes.

  Don't roast me but I learned that tape measures have the base length measurement printed on there, so you don't need to be a noob and fold the tape measure over to see the printed measurement.

  Just add the measurement at the tape measure entry to the base length.

  Hopefully that helps another noob like me.
