Noctua NH-L9a/L9i $53.89 (Non-Chromax) $77 (Chromax) + Delivery @ Newegg

140

Though it would be a good deal for SFF lovers. Delivery is $9. If you are after L9a chromax, Pbtech has it for approximately the same price delivered but shipped from NZ, which should be faster than shipping from Taiwan? Other variants also available on Pbtech for slightly more.

Local stock is $89 (ugly) or $105(chromax)

  • Looking for a quiet one to replace my ryzen 5 3600 stock cooler (too loud!). any tips? do they usually come with thermal paste?

    • Depending how hot the CPU gets, can you not just turn down the fan speed?

      • +1

The basic Stealth cooler actually does get pretty noisy. It's better than Intel's pathetic stock coolers but I replaced it pretty quick.

    • I'm thinking about doing exactly the same! This cooler should come with Noctua NT-H1 thermal paste which should be pretty good!

      • It does come with paste - I've got one in an Inwin Chopin, works a treat.

I'd go the L12S if space permits, much better cooler.

    • I'm running a Noctua L12 on my 2600 and it gets reasonably good over clock, 4.1 which is fair for that generation of chip, I find the temperatures very reasonable (60ish under heavy synthetic load), and the noise is barely audible. It's in a SFF case and I can't see it so, I wouldn't spend extra on an all black aesthetic personally, the L9 is quite small, there's a fatter one but it uses a smaller fan so smaller footprint, so better compatibility and it's probably cheaper too. These L9s should be quieter and better than a stock cooler

  • Ahh, got Hyper 212 Black Edition RGB for $57 from Amazon yesterday. Purely gone aesthetics for the pending 5600X.

This looks way better, but hate the poo colour.

  • approximately the same price delivered but shipped from NZ, which should be faster than shipping from Taiwan?

It will depend on shipping used but I've got stuff coming by post from NZ that's been sitting at the airport in Auckland for weeks.

  • How does this compare to a Cryorig C7 ? Currently feeling the one in my Inwin Chopin is a bit poor in terms of cooling, I do have a noctua fan sitting on top though.

  • Obligatory: Omg I hate the poo colour! /s
