      Updated.. Thanks

hmm, not sure if I should trust it:
    Output Voltage
    12V DC

Probably a fire starter would not be risking my laptop on this.

    Kogan always equals problems.

Yes will be unknown square wave output. Might want to get a decent pure sine wave inverter instead

  • +1

Very strange it doesn't mention if it's pure sine wave or not. I would assume that means it's a modified sine wave and only useful for some things, while it can destroy others. Try and find out or give it a miss IMO. Either way, take caution as it really should state what type of inverter it is.

    • If it doesn’t mention pure sine wave it probably isn’t! You’d want to mention that as a seller to drive sales. This is too cheap for a pure sine wave product

    • +1

That one looks the same and specs say modified sine wave

In my opinion these all look dodgy, and will fry certain types of applicances. Buyer beware.

  • If you're charging a laptop, better to get a high power USB-C PD charger and a USB-C PD adapter that suits the barrel of your laptop and provides the appropriate voltage if you can (and if it doesn't draw too much power).

    • I have a 30W USB-PD cigarette lighter/USB-C adaptor. Can it just supply 30W and extend my laptop screen time, or do I have to match/exceed my laptop's power specs?

      • +1

I think you need to match or exceed, but it depends on a laptop. I have a 2014 XPS 13 with an adapter which charges great with a 45w cigarette lighter charger, but i don't think works with anything less than that

      • You should be able to extend your screen time, or at absolute best charge very very slowly. 30W is a bit too low to be reliable for a laptop (especially as many of cheaper ones advertise 30W but it's actually 30W split between 2 USB ports, etc etc).

        • Depends on the laptop I think - 30W doesn't do anything for my old XPS 13.
