  • Yeah theyre pretty good for the price honestly.

  • Hook them up to an Echo Dot for a cheap music system in any place.

If you don’t like the woodgrain style, the black style speakers are also on discount.

  • Are these any good with desktop?

    • +1

I have the Edifier R1280T for low-end desktop gaming, Youtube etc and very happy. I'd imagine most people would be pretty impressed with these at $140

  • +1

I find the sound they produce to be dry and lifeless. Personally I'd get some reasonable headphones at this price and save up some cash for something better. Either way, go to a store and listen to them before you drop your hard earned money on them

Yes I sold mine and upgraded. The difference is huge

      • What did you upgrade to?

        • +1

          Kef q350

      • +2

Yes you upgraded. By spending 5x the amount on the KEFs you are meant to notice.

        • -1

Yes it is a fair bit more, but it's worth it if you care about sound quality. Got them for 700, which is a bargain price for them.

  • They're very good. Shake the floor. At this price and free shipping they're worth a try. Edifier are certainly the best in their price range, and the least barrier to entry too. They are quite large though - also make sure to fiddle with the eq settings as you go.

    • You won't be shaking the floor with these, they have very weak, hollow bass. Then again what do you expect from a small cheap driver. They do have decent, clean mids.

      • +1

I mean sure, but I'm in my bedroom listening to music right now and that's what they're doing? The 1280DB have even more bass from reviews I watched so anybody who is reading and just wants bass power, go with them. You won't get as high quality a sound but such are the tradeoffs I guess. I might have hit the perfect resonant frequency of the table or my little tiny room but they certainly do for me. I prefer them over my housemates PreSonus monitors actually.
