Need Help Tuning up My Xiaomi Mi 34 Inch Ultra-Wide Monitor

Hello everyone,

I just got myself a Xiaomi Mi 34 Inch monitor yesterday and I need help tuning up the monitor.
So far, I've only enabled Game Mode and Freesync option and I don't know what else that needs to be enabled/disabled for better performance.
I'm not familiar with other options terms and what they do. If you own this monitor, can you list what settings you set for this monitor and any advice you can give, please?

Thank you.

  • On youtube search hardware unboxed mi 34

pretty indepth though I just used their recommended response time of medium.

    • I have set it to medium.

  • Turn down the brightness and lean back on a gaming chair

  • I turned off "dynamic luminos" and "DCR". I found they were too jittery and responsive, making the monitor effectively flicker.

      Yup, they are off.

My settings are pretty close to default but I also run an ICC profile

    Dynamic Luminous - Off
    Black - 60
    Contrast - 55
    DCR - Off
    Gamma 2.6
    Sharpness - 45
    Response Time - Medium
    Noise Reduction - Off
    Motion Response Time - Off

    • Thank you for that list. I will give that a try.

      • sorry sharpness is only in 10's so it should be 50.
i also found contrast 70 and gamma 2.2 to be very good.

windows 10 there's a "Calibrate Display Color" function you can also use to have your own settings.

  • Hi all,

Can uou please tell me on what resolutions you can run 144hz. Is it only for 1440p or lower. My gpu cannot push 144hz on 1440p have to play in lower res.

    • On Ubuntu linux I can only go to 120hz at 1440p. On windows I can do the full 1440p/144hz. Graphics card is AMD® Radeon rx 5700

  • This is a pretty niche issue but I’ve had a look around and can’t find anything posted about it

I’m using this with a KVM and swapping between 4 machines, issue is it seems to take 4-6 seconds per switch for the screen to re-activate.

Anyone got a good idea of how I could reduce this lag? I have a feeling because it’s losing and re-gaining connection

Edit: Should have mentioned got it connected with 1 HDMI in

    • Did you ever fix this? I would say Display port should be faster, but i only just got my monitor today.

I didn't and the KVM I have is HDMI only, I guess I could get a HDMI>DVI connection and try it.

Honestly this has become less of an issue as i'm down to 2 machines now with much less swapping needed
