BFNOW

Following on from this deal, Exia666 found another code (BFNOW) which brings the price of the Classic Original (or variants) down to $37.12 delivered. The code also works on all styles 😎

They have a lifetime warranty and on top of that, it seems you can pay a $28 fee to replace them if they are lost or broken (up to twice per pair) - details here

I bought the Ventura for $59.90 (AUD).

There are holiday gift sets but the code doesn't work on these.

Alternative code for 50% off two pairs is FIFTY

  • Look decent but are these plastic with woodgrain texture or actually wood frames?

    • Plastic.

      On their mission page

In partnership with Verdn, we remove 2 kilos of ocean plastic with every order – the equivalent of 160 bottles. Thanks to you we are making a worldwide impact one pair of shades at a time.

      • +3

Great initiative if true. I'll give them a go - their returns/lost/broken policy is pretty decent!

I don't understand why eyewear companies make these claims though. Oscar Wylee was fined $3.5m for the "buy a pair give a pair" which claimed to donate a pair to someone disadvantaged for each pair bought. No pairs were donated…

Edit* Their prices are also Ex GST

    The frames are plastic

I now own 5 pairs of shady rays and there really good at replacing them I had a pair melt due to some sunscreen product and they replaced them for free as it shouldn't have happened

    • How do their fare as sunnies, in relation to the expensive players like Oakley and Raybans?

      • Never owned Oakley or Raybans always found them way too over priced but I'm from the UK so find Australia's sun super bright but I put these on and I'm squint free

        • +1

Your paying for lens quality (and marketing).
Debatable whether its worth it for some people, but I have a couple of glass lens raybans and serengeti's, which i got on special for usually between $120 to $180.
Clarity of glass lens beats the oakleys i have.
But that said, oakleys have really good clarity for plastic (poly) lenses.
When they got scratched up, i replaced them with trivex equivalent lenses, theyre pretty good, but not as good as the oakley originals.

The fact that i cant find what lens they use in these are a little worrying.

Also on the sunnies i have, they all have metal hinges etc.

Personally, i think if you take care of your sunnies, its worth paying the extra.

5 Pairs, thats way too much :) got one, thanks OP

    • 2 pairs in rotation and 3 as back up just incase I forget them but in the sale they are well worth it

  • Are these Asian fit? Can it fit an asian's face who has flat nose?

    • +1

Yep, no problem here with the nose. I've got a few pairs from them when they offered 50% off. I have the titan and signature series, all polarised (def get polarised). The only one I had a problem with is their X-series. It didn't quite fit that well on my face or nose, something about the way it's designed made it seem like it was too small for my face and it kind of pushes out (curved) so it doesn't sit on the nose properly, not sure how to explain it. But the others I thought were good.

    Shame no prescription for aus

    • +1

Answered my question, so hard to find decent perscription sunglasses without selling my soul.

Was going to buy a pay from Jins the last time I was in Tokyo, but the sunglasses styles were a bit strange for my taste

  • Is it worth paying $25 extra for the S|R Extreme upgrade?

    • Would like to know this too.

      • I decided to buy the extreme, just for the slightly better lens material and coating.

    • Yes we'll worth it in my opinion I have all mine in the SR version and they feel better and have the aquaphobic coating on the front and just feel better all round

      • Have you bought any non-SR Extreme version and compared it agiainst each other?

        • Yeah I have in the past they just seem to feel better in the SR version and have all the added stuff on them like the coating and the frames feel better if I'm honest

          • @Lip85: Placebo maybe? :)
            Who knows!

  • Why is it showing "plus taxes" at checkout?

    • GST?

      • Lol yep I thiught it was a local company not USA.

        • 👍🏻

  • Thanks just ordered a pair.

  • Ordered two pairs, thanks for the deal.

  • NY20D seems available to me too, seems generic.

    Thanks OP!

  • Thanks OP, bought 2

  • Are these suitable for wider face?

  • +1

ta, ordered Signature Series - Blackout Polarized INCOGNITO

  • Weird, paying via Paypal changes the currency to USD and $63.02 AUD for the Venturas. Bought via credit card to pay $59.90. Thanks for the deal OP

    • +1

Choose pay in USD from Paypal option. It will charge your card in USD (with better rate than PP).

Don't forget the referrals for $15 off!

  • Anyone can compare to goodr?

  • Bought a Signature and a Titan to try them out.

  • Anyone get shipping tracked yet? Any idea when they will arrive?

    • Yea, mine has shipped on sat 31/10/20. Still en route.

    • I ordered on 17th Nov - just checked tracking and mine arrived into Aust last week. It should be here this week.

      • I received mine on 4/12 so am happy! They looks nice, very shine and does a good job cutting off the glare.

        • Good to hear - thanks.

    • +1

Got mine on Friday. They're good, would buy again.

  • +3

I got mine and aren't too happy with them. The plastic feels cheap but my biggest gripe is that the lens is quite lousy - it reflects internally so I am constantly looking at the reflection of my own eyes. It actually reduce visibility. Never encountered this with my Raybans.

In complete honesty it feels no different from a pair you can pick up from any night market or the cancer council ones. Company probably doing well from very smart marketing tactics.

    • Hmm, I didn't have the reflection issue with the Ventura model, and mine feels quite premium.

    • Same here, ordered a Signature Series blackout and upgraded to the S|R Extreme. The internal blue reflections are so annoying. Build quality is below my expectations, with uneven paint coating, glue stains around the edge of lens, and the hinge feels super cheap. For some reason, one of the screws is already stripped.

Honestly, I feel that the quality is even worse than the $10-$20 cancer council ones from local pharmacies. Definitely would not purchase from them again…

      • Contact them, see what they say. I have 3 pairs and I have looked for what you've mentioned and mine seem 100% okay.

        • Yeah, I just sent them an email and see what they'll say. Not sure if it's a defect specific to my unit, but now the paint coating is already starting to come off at the end of the frames. I've only wore them 3 times whilst driving…

My version is the Signature Blackout series with the matte black paint, which maybe more prone to these sorts of issues 🤷‍♂️

        • It's been a week since I've sent them an email, still no reply…

          • @Hellcrusher3304: Update: Sent them a second email and they said they did not receive my first email. They are now offering replacement. Their response was pretty quick to my second email and I am now satisfied with their CS. Will have to see the quality of the replacement pair.

  • Bought on 17/11/20. Apparently arrived in Australia on 4/12 but tracking has gone dark since then.

    • +3

Update: received mine yesterday. I have to agree with other commentors here regarding their poor quality. These look and feel like worse quality than a servo bought pair. $15 for these would be a fair price.

  • pls post more reviews when received

    • +2

Don’t bother with signature series. Build quality seems low.

  • They're great, ordering another pair!

    • What did you get?
I got the signature series… feels like cheap garbage. Someone mentioned cancer council sunnies but I reckon these are worse. Lens seems ok but frame feels flimsy and cheap

      • I got two - SIGNATURE Series Black Infrared Polarized & VELOCITY™Black Sunset Polarized. Opened them up for Xmas, the OH and I love them both equally. They are quite dark, picks up fingerprints easily, but are a snug fit and decent build quality.

        • Do you get the toughened ones? I got standard polarised blackout version.

        • I upgraded to the Extreme edition for the Signature series blackout. But like others said, the frame quality is very poor IMO, especially the hinge.
