    • No insertion for you

Heads up that eBay current have a known issue with some promotions. Was chatting with them earlier today, they will apparently sort it, but even though my sales meet the criteria, they aren't applying the offers.

    • Yep. Read my comment below

      • The issue I am describing is a little bit different to yours:

        https://ibb.co/J3KJVtM

eBay have the offer available, but not applying it to valid sales unfortunately.

I've chatted with support and they are investigating the issue.

  • Does this mean you still have to pay PayPal fees? I’ve never sold on eBay before

    • +2

Yes because Paypal is a different service.

  • Between all the sponsored posts and all the obnoxious ads on the platform, the $0 valuation fees ought to be the default position. Beyond me, how percentage fees are charged on top of an already egregious marketplace system.

  • cant see it dont think i got it if its already started

Just had an issue with promo I got from eBay in regards to selling old phone or console with no seller fees and get back 10% in vouchers Max $50

They were trying to stooge me out of the final value fee; sayings it’s not in the T&Cs. Only about the voucher in the terms. But I had the email still that says “pay no fees and get 10% voucher”

After I said I’ll take it up with the ombudsman for false advertising. The rep said I should see a credit for the final value fee in. A few days

    • -4

Nah Ebay are correct, you've simply hustled your way out. I got the promo and it was clear to me.

      • The email says no selling fees, which are insertion fees and fvf, as per the eBay selling fees link in the same email.

        • They must have messed up in the email, as they wouldnt sell themselves short like that. I remember reading the promo and it still having fees, just no listing/insertion fee (as always)

        • +3

Exactly.. Can't say no selling fees then charge selling fees after

      • +1

Nope. No selling fees in another promo I got said in the T&Cs exactly that. No final value fee or insertion fees. They just didn't have that in this promo as they only put in T&Cs for the voucher and forgot about the no selling fees part.

    • +2

Thanks for this. I used the same promo. Banner said "no selling fees and get 10% back in vouchers". But as you said nothing in the t's and c's. I'll complain same as you if there are final value fees as it's definitely misleading.

      • There is a final value fee in my account activity, rep said it will take 2-4 days for credit to come through

    • +1

thanks - you just saved me $25

    • Hmmm I think i'm in the same boat, I just sold 2 items on this promo, checked my account and I have about $100 waiting to be charged from ebay…

    • So after using that promo what fees do you expect to pay? I still have $40 odd charges incoming after selling $490 worth of items. its was $99 charges incoming but they took off final value fees.

    • They had a few problems this year. Went on live chat, they made a few errors while fixing it, and instead of me paying them a small fee, the balance was negative in the hundreds (i.e. they had to pay me). Saw that figure and cashed it out lmao

  • Not sure what's going on with eBay, I've sold over $10k worth of stuff in the past 3 months and have not been charged any final value fees (I had no coupons activated either).
Thinking about just staying quiet and closing my account down..

    • When they had the $1.10 weekends I was the same as you, never paying full FVF. It's great for small sellers like us, I imagine the larger corporate accounts don't see anything at all.

    • Well you still have 2.5% of that + 30 cents from paypal to worry of your many items totalling over 10k…..but I guess you got lucky from selling for free at least on ebay….

Anyone got the enrolment link so we can test?

  • Handy if you've hoarded 10 PS5s

  • +1

This seems to be the link
    https://www.ebay.com.au/sl/sell

You can see all your promotions there and accept pending ones. Turns out I already had another 10 free listing expiring on the 23rd of November.

  • ugh not for me either - only have:
Sell your old Phone or Console free from selling fees*
Free 40 Fixed Price & Auction Listings!

  • I really like zero fee insertions…

  • +2

$0 insertion fee is always a good deal in all aspects of life.

  • :( not in my promotional offers
I miss those days when there were $1 final value fees on the weekends

  • …"eBay reserves the right to cancel or change the offer at any time."

Whoever takes up this offer from eBay is a mug.

They won't even do anything about sellers who pay overseas workers to do shill bidding on auction listings.

    Thanks Cuz

I was actually targeted for once… thanks op for the heads up!

  • +1

Damn….my paypal got locked up with like $200 in funds…that I stupidly forgot to cash out……

  • This promo kinda sucks. Read the fine print. 'This offer is only available to users who have never sold an item on eBay before or have not sold on eBay in over 12 months'

  • Awesome, going to try sell my watches.
