    • Don't give access to any of TCL's software on the TV.

You can turn off their own 'security and updates' crap, and just have Netlfix and the like with access. I also don't use the voice control.

I have this exact TV. Picked it up about 12 months ago from JB Hifi for around this price. Cheap and cheerful, works great, starts quick (no big delays until you see what's on- had a Soniq TV that took 15 seconds until you could see anything).

This is the 715 and it's highly likely an 815 is being released soon (when I purchased mine they were flogging the 615's for about $1000).

Look closely at the prefix as well. Slightly better specs on the C series (I think the screens are slightly better), even though they are same release year.
So for instance the C715 is better than the P715, even they are selling side by side (same sizing etc).

I had reservations with TCL, but for under $1500 you probably won't get a better large screen TV.

    • There's already C815 but its a bit older and I've been hoping for a decent C715 deal

    • How's the picture/motion quality?

I've actually been pretty impressed to be honest!

I've watched the NBA and NFL on it and it's been great. It's my 'daily driver' TV. I don't expect miracles from it, but it's been great. UHD Netflix through the inbuilt Netflix app is clear as crystal.

  • Great TV for the price. I got JB to price match AppliancesCentral for $1390 then used the 11% singles day promotion to get it down to $1237, making it effectively $1137 with the gift card offer (now ended).
