      • Hi it would be nice to pick up the unbranded SGS2 black for $549 at Parramatta shop.

        • Fixed, please try it now. thanks!

        • Fixed, please try it now. thanks!

  • If someone could provide me with a recommendation on a phone from mobileciti i would be grateful.

Which of these phones from the selection being offered would have best battery life for web browsing - the big screen (though power hungry) is attractive to me for browsing and gps. (I am going overseas next week and need a phone to keep in contact and will take gst off at the airport). A good gps app for thailand would be great too.

I may not have regular access to recharging in some more remote areas (nor 3G) but will also take a spare basic phone as well which i will use for normal calls and emailing. Tethering and using calibre to put items on a kindle may be either phone-not sure.

I wont be using camera, video, games etc on either phone -well maybe a few pics to email back.

Needs to be over $350 (before $50 coupon discount) to take advantage of GST rebate. But i dont really want to pay more than $600 either-may lose it, break it.

    • .

    • Out of the our deal range, the galaxy S II i9100 850Mhz would fit into your requirments in terms of price, coverage (GSM/3G Quadband), GPS, screen size and battery life.

Feel free to email our sales team if you wish to purchase anything or have any sales related enquiries.

      Thank you.

      • Does the Samsung S II i9100 850mhz support 900mhz? Is there a difference between the Telstra branded SG2 and the non Telstra branded ones?

        • Yes, the i9100 is made in 3G quadband (HSDPA 850/900/1900/2100Mhz).

The difference would be the telstra logo on the handset and the telstra preloaded software on the handset which the non branded one doesn't have.

      • Thanks mobileciti for your advice and suggestion…anyone else any thoughts? And i too would like to know the answer to neomirph's question re 850 and 900 mhz range.ta

        • Mobiciti, why does the telstra sg2 network specification on your web says 2g Quadbrand, 3g, 850Mhz and the unbranded ones says 2G Quadband, 3G, 850Mhz, 900Mhz?

        • 3G is 2100. We have also put 850Mhz and 900Mhz on as well.
Thank you for bringing this up.

        • I thought the 850mhz tick is just some gimmick since the normal Galaxy S 2 already support 850mhz and 900mhz 3G?

          Here's the specs from GSMArena:
          http://www.gsmarena.com/samsung_i9100_galaxy_s_ii-3621.php

        • nanoline-maybe the only difference is that 850Mhz version has telstra bloatware on it???

    • +2

@patientvalue - grab the SGS2 as recommended by the rep. It's the best fit for your brief and a great handset (from personal experience)! quad band 2g and 3g means it will work just about anywhere! You won't regret. If your going to be off the beaten track for a while always worth buying one of those portable usb battery power packs. Cheapest ones are usually from China/HK but don't think those would arrive in time for your trip - have a look around the local stores.

BTW if you have a tendency to lose/break things on holidays pick up one of the several discounted travel insurance policies floating around :)

      • thanks mate. yep seems like the phone to get. i just missed out on DWI's galaxy note (http://www.dwidigitalcameras.com.au/NewCategory/index.html for $635) which looks awesome. yes i plan to get a usb battery power pack to go-but have left it too late to order from overseas (and amazon wont ship to here those things) so will probably buy one in thailand. yep buying insurance tomorrow too :) cheers

  • Apple doing $679 for iPhone4 8GB. You are doing $699. Are there have any discount on that as I will get 2 of them. Yes, iPhone4 8GB not iPhone 4s.

    • Sure, we will email to you shortly. Thanks

can you please confirm if the list of phones at the top of this page is still current or if new phones have been added, i am getting confused by the email and extra phones that i believe have been added.

also, if i come into your store tomorrow do i get the gold points as well and can they be deducted from the purchase on the spot (essentially a 1% further discount).

    thanks

    • what is the gold points for?

      • For every $1 you spend you would get 1 gold point.
Every 100 gold point would get you $1 discount.
You can spend your accumulated gold points while going through check out.

        • thank you, i just realised :)

    • 1% further discount will be applied on your next purchase not to apply in the same purchase.
      Thanks

    • Already update the list. thanks

      • +1

thankyou!! much easier to see. i will come into your shop tomorrow

        • Welcome, see you tomorrow!

        • Rep are you actually in the store? If so, who?

Every time I walk into the store to buy something posted here I'm told the online people are different and in another office. There's no issue with buying stuff it's just that in-store staff aren't always across the online deals.

        • ccrap

that is a worry, i am making a special trip (over an hour) to go in and buy - i sure hope i am not going to waste my time and money getting there!

i have printed off the deal here on ozbargain as well as the list of phones on the home page-although they dont match the offer :(

          see how we go…

        • +1

patientvalue, don't worry, you won't have any problems. As I mentioned towards the end, there's no issue buying stuff at the right price, it's just that often staff haven't known straight up about the online deals, then you have to wait around for a bit while they check the promotion on the web and with the online staff. You will get it at the discounted price in the end. Fear not, I have been buying from these guys for several years and they are good.

        • Hi Rep. does each phone have a user guide? my nexus s didnt have one, maybe because the seal was broken? the LG 3D had one though. normally it would okay but as it is my first smart phone i really need a user guide. is there a pdf of it?

      • +1

i went in this morning and bought the nexus s and LG Optimus 3D P920. nice people and good simple service. i am very happy. i also bought a 5000 Mhz battery/usb charger-only one they had and it was a demo model.

As these are my first smart phones can anyone recommend where i would go to remove the bloat wear from the optus branded LG phone. where can i find a basic tutorial for both phones eg how to remove icons-where to find things. and generally how to use -any links for a noob?

  • Any chance for further discount on xperia play?
