    • Perfectly said!!! Exactly 100%. I've dealt with it in the past a fair bit and there's another big issue: paying for goods with a bitcoin transfer isn't entirely quick. Sure the transaction is visible quickly, but you need confirmations on the blockchain to complete the actual transfer. This can take 15 minutes, 40 minutes, 3 hours…. just depends on congestion on the network. Paypass is virtually instant. Bitcoin doesn't work fast enough for consumer transactions.

And yes Brewer - it feels like pass the parcel with bitcoin. One day you could get paid 1 bitcoin for your $10,000 invoice, if they paid three weeks late, you might then get 0.8 bitcoin because its rocketed up in value. Then you could sit on that 0.8 bitcoin (worth $10,000) for a month and when you go to cash it in, its dropped and worth $8,300….. The only real way to cover yourself is to cash it as soon as you receive it and not sit on it.

As for an investment concept, the value doesn't swing on normal news like the cost of iron ore increasing which raises BHP's share value. It's speculation, unexplained movements, fake confidence, …. probably a bit of fake news from time to time for all I know!!! It's not there, it has no intrinsic value and its ability to swing up to $100,000 is matched by its potential to drop to $200 in the same time period. I would recommend that if you don't know what you're doing with it, stay away from it and I'd be guessing that it's bull run will start to end soon.
