iRobot Roomba i7+ Vacuum Cleaner $1459.99 Shipped @ Costco (Membership Required)

100

Seems like a good deal and around price roughly what a commercial pricing discount would be for those that don't have access to it.

Was looking at the S9+ but local pricing here in Australia is $2899-

  • These are meant to be the business

Edit: S9 meant to be better though

    • Agreed but at $2899 locally it is hard to justify-

      • Kogan sells it for $1499 but you have to wait til Feb.

        • How can it be so cheap?

          • @djmm: So I didn’t buy it from Kogan! I assumed they have better deal from irobot warehouse

            • @zeus2212: That's like almost half price - price error?

              • @djmm: The Kogan version is an import. Which leads to 2 issues as an import. AFAIK the S9+ is 110v only as an import. The standalone S9 is apparently multi-voltage but not the S9+. More pressing is considering the issues you may have with these, local warranty is important to me. YMMV.

                  @Spizz: I see.

But at almost half the price maybe it's worth risking?
About the 100v, it would be weird if Kogan doesnt disclose that as it would be potentially customer service nightmare ie people simply plugging in and it's toast?

                  • @djmm: Yes, where does it say that the Plus comes with a power supply that doesn't work?

                  • @djmm: Kogan is listing as Sold Out.

                    • @Spizz: I bet it was price error

For that much, it had better climb the stairs itself.

  • Is there any real benefit between this and robot vacuums at half this price?

    • Difference is emptying the bin daily vs once every few months.
To me, that convenience is worth every penny.

      • +1

Obviously others experiences may vary but my robot dust canister is approx 450ml volume and we run it multiple times a day and I reckon it requires emptying every 5-7 days.

        • +2

we have two cats, had the 980 model, had to empty it every second day. Ever since the i7+ we've never emptied the catchment and emptied the dustbin once in 12 months. Wife and I love it, worth every penny agreed!

for 2.9k I would expect it to mop and wash dishes as well

  • Bought roomba e5 from amazon us for $600

Much better deal than this one

    • e5 struggles with dark rugs. At least that is what someone I know said. Their e5 used to stop on black rugs, they had to upgrade to i7 which works.

      • $600 vs $1.5k

I use it for hard floor only anyway.

  • Just started looking at mopping robots - for vinyl floors in a commercial space. Currently have a first gen mi robot vac and it does a great job on carpets.

Compared to a $400 viomi v2, is this one worth $1000 more? What's the best one for 4-600, and any hints of black friday sales?

  • Anyone ever bought from Selfridges? This would be cheaper with their current discount code https://www.selfridges.com/AU/en/cat/irobot-roomba-i7-robot-vacuum-cleaner_314-3006185-17558/?cm_mmc=PLA--GoogleAU--HOMETECH-_-IROBOT&POR=Y&utm_source=google&utm_medium=cpc&utm_campaign=na_na_pla-b_na_na_na_INT_AUS-PLA-HOMEANDTECH-HOME&gclid=CjwKCAiA7939BRBMEiwA-hX5J-tr6dKoOTUvw8JSRi6U8WYco27yEX6ettT7VYdUU7Sw4efCm5VCGhoCTy8QAvD_BwE&gclsrc=aw.ds

    • Yeah they are like David Jones in the UK.

    • Actually comes to $1485 after import duties.

edit. i think it also adds 10% gst on top of this price also.

Just some feedback for people. I hated robovac's, every one I had tried over the years was terrible and died in a few months.

I rescued a dog from RSPCA who dropped ALOT of hair I got sick of vacuuming this up so decided with the self emptying thing I would just give this a go. I have had it for a year, it runs 3 times a week and I empty the bag in the docking station every 3-4months. The level it lives on in the house 90% hardwood, so I am sure that makes it's life easier.

I know it's expensive, but this IS the business. One of the best things I have ever bought.

I would say I think the battery is slightly lower in held charge now, but it's not my problem as it just sorted out recharging and resumes the job shortly after.

    • bee's knees*

  • I was looking at one of these. Nice to see some honest reviews. I was waiting for a sale but haven’t seen any. Not a Costco member. Don’t think they will ever open in Darwin Lol

If you have family members with long hair, how often you need to untangle the machine? This is the only reason I've been holding off buying as I usually just use my Dyson handheld without the floor extension to just do spot clean

My old housemate was a girl and her hair used to get wrapped around wheels.
It doesn’t stop the cleaning, but it was maintenance to remove her hair from the wheels every so often.

I kicked her out and now I don’t have that problem. And better still, I don’t need to clean her hair outta the bathtub drain.

        ewww lol
        Love your review :)

  • Thanks for the post, I'm interested in buying one of these as well. I'm not a Costco member so I think there may be limited info for me to see online. Do you know whether they get the usual warranty & I also assume these aren't grey imports - is that correct?

  • Still waiting for a sale. Maybe when the next model comes out

Amazon AU has it for $1499. Joyce Maine price matched it for me
