Not sure, haven't used it…. It may not support the newer stand charger piece (but thats a gimmick really)…
Not really. Only review suggest same sound across the two. I prev the older one, comes with AUX.

@mavis30551: And a lot more "authority" to the sound than the Boom. Good backyard speaker, where the Boom leaves some bass behind.
I bought 2 of these and was disappointed with sound quality
I will say latest firmware did improve sound considerably
Bought one on prime day sales, it exceeded expectations. Considering buying another to cover bigger area. MUCH more volume that I expected, and deeper bass considering the tube form factor. Pretty chunky though so more for home, park, car use - too heavy to carry around too far.

Still available in the Charcoal Lite colour at $168 - Still worth it at that price but would have to agree on the size & weight. Not something you'd want to lug around all day in a bag.
