Stanley 3pc. 13/19/25MM Wood Chisel Set $14.95 (Was $49.95) at Total Tools

800

Lots of stock in store at Preston (VIC) store, guessing that's the case elsewhere too. Not sure about the quality of this set compared to something like the FatMax, but for this price I thought it was worth a flier and wanted to share!

A few other Black Friday deals have kicked off at Total Tools.

    Where are these made?

I won't buy them if they are made in China but Stanley seem to make a lot of their hand tools in Europe.

    • +5

It's a $15 chisel set. I reckon best case these are made in China.

    • +1

Why wouldn't you buy Chinese made?

Everything else you buy is from China

Why wouldn't you buy Chinese made?

Because it's his money and he doesn't owe you an "why" explanation.

Everything else you buy is from China

Not really. Most of the things I've purchased since the pandemic is NOT made in China, and I will continue to shop this way even if I pay a bit more. And the things I buy seem to be better quality as well, so it works for me.

          wait even clothes?
I have not found a place where they sell clothes like shirts, trousers and so on and it isn't made in China

          • @michael9865: Yeah you need to look outside of Kmart.

            • @CocaKoala: lol I've only purchased simple stuff from there, i meant as in which shops.
I usually go to specialty stores for clothes and they are made in china

            • +1

@CocaKoala: yep lots of clothes made in bangladesh too, kmart cotton t shirts.

Nope. I'm now going out of my way to buy non-Chinese products - whatever the cost. So if a Chinese made product costs $20 and German-made is $100, I'll buy the German one. Sometimes this is not always possible as Chinese-made is all that's available but there's usually an alternative. If more people did the same I can guarantee that there would a lot less made in China stuff to buy

Why? Because of all the shit that the CCP is heaping on the world. They caused Covid 19 but then get arsey when the world wants answers to why/how. Their bullying of Australia and other Western democracies. The fact the Xi acts like a spoilt man-child. The South China Sea, Hong Kong and Taiwan. That the CCP is basically evil. Great country and people but with a pathetic and backward government.

Not to mention China just joined the U.N. Human Rights panel and immediately began lecturing other countries about human rights LOL.

    • Yep, China.

  • Good price. Chisels in Bunnings are very expensive.

    • +8

      Not just chisels :D

  • Bargain thanks

Bunnings Craftright is the same price.
    https://www.bunnings.com.au/craftright-3-piece-chisel-set_p5…

Both sets made in China. So this is probably not a huge bargain.

Also same price at Sydney tools:

And I think this set at Sydney tools is a better buy:
      https://sydneytools.com.au/product/dewalt-dwht16063-4pce-chi…

They are made in Sheffield in the UK.

      • That does look the goods! Might have to do a cheeky return.

      • +1

        Excellent - Sheffield steel.

There are alternative products that are not made in China and don't cost a fortune.

Got the Dewalt set last time for $25. Can recommend.

Get yourself some good chisels eg the dewalts and a set of bangers to use and abuse for jobs that might wreck you good edge. I use my cheap chisels more than my good ones. They refuse to die

        • +1

Set of bangers… You mean to tell me there's other stuff you can do with them?

    • can we price match in Melbourne
