  • i thought you can get $49 cap for 9780 and playbook

    • If you are referring to the optus deal, that total minimum cost is over $1000 and over 24 months

    • this is $29 a month for 12 months (instead of 24) for $49 cap and phone.
great deal if you don't mind having a 2 year old phone

      • +2

dont forget $84 MBC, will work out to $22 a month or $264 all up after 12 months.

If you are already with voda, use SAVE10 for 10% off, comes to $237.6 total or $19.8/month.
        OR
If you aren't with voda, use 25CREDIT to get $25 off you bill, comes to $239 total or $19.92/month.

That's bloody awesome for a Blackberry with calls and 12 months BIS access too! Even though it's about 2 years old it's a good BB unit.

        • +2

I tested both promos SAVE10 and 25CREDIT thru the MBC portal but neither was accepted

        • Odd, for some reason it doesn't seem to work for this offer - even though when you load the OPs link you can see the box on the right with coupon info directing voda customers to use SAVE10. Maybe a glitch in their system, but even at $22 a month inc MBC it's crazy sweet, especially if you have lots of overseas mates/contacts on BBM.

        • what is MBC? Can you provide a link?
          Thanks,

  • is it locked to vodafone? Can I unlock it for free or there is a fee for that?

    • From T&Cs it says unlocking fee applies, so assume it will. But remember that more often than not with Voda, handsets are either already unlocked or unlocking via their web system charges the end user nothing.

    • im pretty sure, if u take a handset on a contract with vodafone, they unlock it for free

      • Thanks for your reply, gonna check tmr and tell u guys about it

  • never regret selling the phone, RIM having issue where their balance book is negative, ie company is in negative asset.

Undeniable the phone has better reception compare to my LG GT540, but the radiation is worse than many phones. that's the trade off.

Honestly i hate vodafail through their phone call service, u press the wrong option, they hang u off and have to go from beginning again. But i was surprise by the face to face service when i was in Morley WA. the person is very helpful.

Hey, that used to be my store :) Glad we/they were helpful.

  • the data part is about
    1.5GB or BlackBerry BIS + 1.5GB
    and with term
'On the $29 Contract Cap and the $45 Vodafone Infinite Plan the Blackberry BIS Pack is available to approved customers only, the minimum monthly spend is $10.'

What does this term mean? Other than the contract, you need to pay at least $10 for the BIS pack?

    • +1

I doubt it because this is a $49 cap

    • BIS isn't usually included in the $29 cap apart from special promotions (it's $10 extra). However, as EarthMan said, this is the $49 cap and will include BIS.

      • So with this you pay $29 a month and get a free BIS pack with 1.5GB data?
That's awesome deal, given Blackberry's Servers won't melt down again

        • Yeah you get the full inclusions of the $49 cap: $550 calls and text (at ~$1/min and 28c/text), unlimited calls to voda and 3 and 1.5GB data+unlimited blackberry data.

  • can i purchase this plan and use another phone?

    • +1

can i purchase this plan and use another phone?

You could, but unless it's a blackberry also, you won't get the benefit of BIS.

      • Get a BB 9900 :)

  • If I was waiting for the new BBX Phones (or something else entirely) and needed a blackberry plan now, this would tide me over.

  • First time seeing the Bold 9700 in white.

Thought the white was only for the 9780

Pretty good deal for the plan itself.

  • Looks like SAVE10 and 25CREDIT are disabled for this phone.
    Any one have success?

good plan but pity the phone doesnt have wifi nor comes with a playbook

    • +1

      Wi-Fi 802.11b/g, WEP, WPA-PSK (TKIP or AES), PEAP, LEAP, EAP-TLS, EAP-FAST, EAP-TTLS, EAP-SIM
Wi-Fi calling supported UMA (Carrier dependent)

I guess it's hard to find a phone that doesn't have WIFI now.

  • -2

thanks aboutconfig on the vodafail site it says no wifi and no 3g but it does have it. i guess you cant rely on the specs put up on vodafone website. fyi http://www.gsmarena.com/blackberry_bold_9700-2963.php

  • +1

I've had this exact phone through Vodafone for nearly 12 months and confirm it definitely does have WIFI.

  • im pretty sure the 9700 has 5 mp not 3 lol

  • is this only for new customer or existing customer?!

  • +1

It's the best phone I've ever had :) Great deal for those wanting the phone, but then yes, I've already had it for more than 2 yrs. So it is a little old…

  • On the ordering page I only see the white colour and that is a deal breaker for me. Any one bought yet. Expiring tonight/

  • I tried to call Vodafone people and they keep saying it's out of stock.
So I decided to place an order on Friday Night - 2/11/2011 and I received it today :)

I think the deal is still applicable…

I got it as black instead of white, I might call them and complaint about this… I think white is a better colour.

Note: they have changed the expire date to: for 12 months. ^Online only. Ends 20 Dec 2011

    • Is the phone locked to VF?

    • How did you manage to place the order when the "Add to cart" button is disabled

  • can unlock for free
