XFX and Gigabyte 6800/XT Pre-Orders @ PLE

It seems like PLE is the only store currently that have AIB cards listed, on a FCFS pre-order basis, similar to what they have done with the 3080 launch.

They are priced as the following:
$1489 - XFX Speedster MERC 319 RX 6800 XT - Review by OC3D.NET
$1289 - XFX Speedster MERC 319 RX 6800
$1499 - Gigabyte Gaming OC RX 6800 XT
$1299 - Gigabyte Gaming OC RX 6800

Don't know what other retailers are going to come out with, but I'd personally stay away at these prices. If you could walk right into a store and grab one at this price, then sure. Otherwise, it's way too high for a pre-order when its main competitor, the 3080, is cheaper. Toss up which you'll get first, but 3080 orders are getting fulfilled.

The EVGA offerings by PLE is the best so far. I also agree that these prices are steep, the Red Devil 6800 XT at PCCG at $1299 is much more reasonable, but no pre-orders and is sold out already.

The real deal were the reference 6800XTs at $1049.

    • that's weird since the MSRP of the reference 6800XT is meant to be $50 USD cheaper than reference 3080.

The 3080 only has 10GB of VRAM which is a deal breaker for me. That's less than the 2080Ti.

Even less stock than Nvidia's launch lol and seems to be higher prices than 3080's like EVGA FTW3

    $1500 for a 6800XT is far too high…

  • If only the prices were the same or close to the reference cards

Those are all hilariously overpriced. I was planning a PC build in December but will wait til next year when the price gouging ends.

it might never end. Reports are that 6000 is 50% better at crypto mining than RTX 3000 series. That's going to make it the go to card for miners, which means you might never get a card, and if you do, it will be full MSRP.

  • Crazy prices plus supply issues; definitely going to postpone my upgrade for a while.

  • At these prices you may as well get a RTX3070 for ~$1000. There is limited stock of them about if you know where to look.
