          marked as "sent" in eBay when this is clearly not the case

          To be fair, eBay marks it as sent when the tracking number is entered (or in this case tracking reference) so this is mostly on eBay as far as the misleading "sent" status goes.

          Having said that I am very pissed off to be one of the first 10 people in the country to order and pay for this only to have hundreds of other people receive their order while mine still awaits even being shipped with multiple "delays".

        I'm in the first 40 on eBay and although I didn't receive an email, can confirm as of the last hour, the Dell site is showing mine as shipped with ETA of tomorrow, complete with tracking number.

            • @daniel1301: Surprisingly, mine just arrived. Works fine on the Ergotron. Kudos to Dell, seems they have chosen the overnight express. But they truly have to work on the communication beforehand. Better a reliable later shipping date than sending out an earlier date and delaying it couple of times.

              Panel/Monitor seems to be flawless, at least in a bright room.

    I was just on the phone with Dell support, and they said there is a shortage of supply for the AW3821DW and the ETA for new stock is 30th December. Doesn't look like the original delivery times before Christmas are going to be met.

      I'd assume that's for "new stock" I've been informed all your orders stock are accounted for and on their way for delivery. I suggest waiting until 23rd before you assume Dell won't meet eta. And if they don't, I understand your frustration, but all I can do is stand by the information I've been given.

    Another who has been on the AW3821DW waitlist (in Sydney), just checked and mine has been updated on Dell website tracking to show shipped and with tracking number (Startrack express service) so fingers crossed it shows up tomorrow (shows as despatched today from a Sydney depot so hopefully doesn't need to get too far!).

    Hope more start seeing same over next few days based on LiMaaa's comment above and can enjoy new monitors before Christmas!

    I honestly don't know how many more disappointments I can take this year.

    3080 ordered within 40 minutes of launch – no ETA.
    5900x ordered within 4 minutes of launch – no ETA.
    And now the AW3821DW. Ordered in literal seconds and receiving it seemingly after everyone else.

      • Quite a shock to say the least, reading this email.

        I was probably not in the first 10 orders, but the order was definitely placed within a minute. Dell were actually helpful with a hiccup for my order, in that the PPIBS20 code didn't apply to my order upon checkout.

        They allowed me to cancel my order and re-order again via a custom listing - which was awesome. However, I would assume this action brought me to the end of the queue.

        I thought that this would've been okay though, considering we were the first 100 in the country to secure this monitor.

        …then Dell eBay stock were mis-allocated to direct Dell orders momentarily when it officially released five days later on their website, and now here we are.

  • I just got an email with the invoice of the monitor. Apparently dell customer reps say that its issued 2 days after the product has been delivered. Not sure what to make of this.

    I am awaiting the AW3821DW. After being delayed 3 times, and now the latest delay being already overdue and hearing others getting theirs, I called Dell Support for information. They provided me the following:

    • There is a unforeseen global part shortage for this and other monitors
    • My order can be expedited once made, but until then there is nothing they can do
    • Advised this means that the monitor is awaiting parts in a factory outside of Australia, before then being shipped to Australia and then shipped to me (and I assume all others still waiting)
    • Advised that they don't expect stock until January 11, 2021 at the earliest.

    I realise this contradicts what @LiMaaa has advised and assured it will arrive by 23rd of Dec and LiMaaa's statement that this Dell advice only applied to new orders - but am certainly nervous that 23rd December is rapidly approaching with nothing from Dell to assure that it is in fact on track :(

      I understand your worry, I'll check in with Dell and find out if all aw38 orders are on track or not and post back when I get some info.

      • I have been in call with them multiple days in the last week, even escalating to their manager. It is clear they no longer have any stock. I was told that next shipment is early Jan. Well, that is extremely disappointing to say the least. So much for getting it before Christmas.

          That's incorrect, even managers don't always have stock info cross departments. I've been assured stock for this deal is all accounted for and that all 38" should arrive before Xmas. Lets see what happens in the coming days.

  • I just checked my delivery status and it says it's been delivered. Been home all day and no monitor. On the phone with dell now. Ugh.

        • I'm Queanbeyan. I got a slip. It says to call 6260 1412 between 7am and 9am only Monday to Friday to arrange re-delivery. Their address is 3/10 Tralee Street Hume. I don't even have a consignment/reference number on the slip. Perhaps just give them a call in the morning? I'm hoping I can pickup in the morning.

    I got a message from Dell this morning and the tracking number is one effing order number which when tracked says it just entered production??? The shipping date says it would be shipped on Feb 1st and arrival is Feb 6. WTF??? This was supposed to be a receive in December deal!!! Why would they mark it as shipped when its clearly not?

      For a Company of this size to be so absolutely useless at shipping products and keeping customers informed correctly is a joke. I have come across thousands of companies 1/1000th this size or smaller that keep their customers informed 1000 times better and don't lie to them. This is unacceptable in my opinion. Even small ebay stores will update me with correct tracking details, no problem. Why's it so hard for Dell? I've read of people getting their monitors without a tracking update at all and Limaa talks like this is fine. I would be embarrassed to represent Dell if I were him. They have seemingly lied to him and let him cop all the flack in the comments here and I'm pretty sure he ain't getting paid for any of it lol. This is my honestly my first and last time I buy anything from Dell.

        Ya I agree with you. Limaa was with us at every step and was also helping people who were no where connected to this deal. Now even he got a bad rep. Its bad how dell treats customers. Somebody should sue them.

    Hi, I sent a message to dell via ebay regarding my delivery on ‘S2721dgf’. Dell told me to refer to dell order site ( which the est. delivery date is 23/01/2021) and added below comment as well

    If you can still wait for the item, we would like to offer a complimentary gaming mouse that you can use with the unit. Hopefully, this will somehow help improve your experience with us. However, if you are no longer willing to wait, we can work on cancelling the order and provide you with a full refund instead. Please let us know.

    Estimated delivery time on ebay was 14-18/12/2020. Should I expect my delivery to be made on 23/01/2020 or dec- early jan2021 as advised by Limaa?

    • They must be confused, the gaming mouse is for 38" purchasers. The dgf has an eta until mid Jan, this was always specified. It's nowhere near the ETA yet haha. I'll have a chat with them.

        Just curious why the mouse is only for the 38" when their eta you gave them says sometime in December. Surely they wouldn't get bonuses unless it was delivered after December. Are 38" purchasers much more whiny than the dgf customers so they got a bonus?

        • Firstly $2000 purchase vs $400 give or take. Their stock was accidentally taken for Web orders which caused them a delay, not to mention coupon expiring issue which caused them to pay $20 more on the deal than some others. The mouse is valid compensation for them and fair.

          DGF eta hasn't even come close and likely won't be delayed, offering the same compensation for a potentially on time order isn't valid. I've spoken to Dell and they confirmed the dgf orders are on track for eta delivery and that if there were to be compensation for delays it likely wouldn't be the same mouse anyway.

          Just trying to be transparent with you guys so you have the correct info, that's all. :)

    Why is there so much confusion in this thread? I thought LiMaaa was quite clear when he stated that the AW3821DW customers would get a complimentary mouse, and why.

    It's a $1.8k screen and the first of them were supposed to go to the eBay Black Friday deal customers. Only a few days later people were able to cut out the middleman and purchase directly through Dell (+extended warranty and other benefits), for less. Then the cherry on top — the stock that was being held for eBay orders was used to fulfill Dell's web orders and those people got their screens immediately instead of Jan-Feb.

    Why would Dell gift DGF customers a relatively expensive mouse? It's a $400 screen and the stated ETA of this deal is still 1 month away. The 38" customers didn't get something for nothing, and it certainly wasn't because we complained more.

I asked Dell CS team about the delivery date as ebay's estimated delivery date was 18th the latest, and CS Team is the one who messaged me back about the complimentary mouse. I guess the confusion came from CS team's message, nowhere else

              • @Emilyb: Huh? Are you new to Ebay? That ETA is just a default estimation given by Ebay as far as I'm aware..?

                You can't really set a delayed ETA or turn it off completely. Ebay will just give you an estimated date based on the shipping method being used by the seller. That's not Dell giving you that ETA or promising to get it to you by that date.

                It was made clear beforehand in this deal that it could take as long as mid Jan before you received your monitor. LiMaaa has consistently said that the dates given in this post are the most accurate ETA. Both of you are dreaming if you reckon Dell is giving all ONE THOUSAND DGF customers a free mouse.

                Don't get me wrong, major props if it's true. I'll be a customer for life if that's the case.

I am also a DGF buyer and I also emailed Dell through Ebay asking about the delivery date on Ebay and the 25th Jan eta on their website. I asked why it was being delayed to late January and they responded with an email offering me to wait and get a free gaming mouse too.

                    Ultimately Dell staff have told me and others that we will get a gaming mouse because of the delay past the Ebay shipping date. I think we could easily hold them to this especially with an Ebay review of the email sent to us lol. I assume Ebay won't like companies lying to customers about free items for delayed shipping 😂

      I have had that date from start. The other eta link says the item is out of stock at my local warehouse.

      I’m happy enough to wait but I’m interested to see if Dell have the balls to have another sale on these monitors for Boxing Day sales considering what’s happened.

      Yeh, I'm looking into this and getting some accurate info pertaining to your orders. Star track had a derailment of one of their cargo trains carrying some Dell shipments, wether that impacted these orders I'm unsure of as of now. Hopefully I have something for you guys tonight or tomorrow.

      Dell did assure me though, that if orders are delayed they'll do their best to rectify the situation for you guys.

        Hey, I just wan't to take a second to thank you for your patience and assistance dealing with this situation. I hope you don't feel too disheartened getting caught in the middle of this s-storm. Unfortunately you bear the brunt of the frustration here on the frontlines but nobody is blaming you personally for the delays. This is a PITA for everybody involved. ;)

    My Estimated delivery for s2721dgf is Mon, 14 Dec - Mon, 21 Dec. But I haven't received it yet. Sent a msg to eBay Dell and they offer a complimentary gaming mouse if I'd like to wait. Otherwise, I'm free to cancel this deal. So?

    • The dgf has an eta of Dec - mid Jan. So it's not necessarily late as of yet, just depends which batch your in.

          Well in the seller’s account, we can see who ordered first, second, third etc. Dell can just send out units to the bottom first working their way up, in ‘batches’ according to their availability [of units]

              No, you can only see in your own seller account. Try selling a few stuff on ebay and you will see. Ebay only shows most recent 100 for public viewers.

              This is my seller history - So Dell will have orders 1-1000 with 1 being the 1st person who bought it and 1000 being the last.

    Anyone with the AW3821DW having issues with underscan? Just realising I have massive underscan, and it seems with the Nvidia Drivers (running a 3080), there seems to be no way to correct it. Any suggestions?

    • what do you mean? for movies or games? if ur talking about movies, use VLC, toggle with the c button ;)

      • No, not movies. For normal desktop, games. Looked in Nvidia Control Panel, and I can increase the underscan, which obviously isn't desirable, but can't go the other way.

    • I know this sounds stupid but you're not talking about the actual borders of the monitor are you? The Aw38 renders on Dell's website are deceptive. It's not actually edge to edge. If you're talking about straight up thick black bars on either side of your screen, then no, I don't have any issues with over/underscan. Are you sure you have it set to the correct resolution? You might want to uninstall and re-install your graphics drivers if you've already tried everything else.

  • AW3821DW eBay order, end of 23 December - not delivered and it is yet to be shipped.

    Only info I have now is that it is "on hold due to part shortage and will be fulfilled on 6th Jan 2021" according to a Dell Customer Care employee and Dell's email stating a delayed delivery date of 5 February 2021.

    Not sure what to believe.

      • It was initially stated as the 29th January however, I checked it again yesterday and it said they said they shipped it out yesterday (23/12). So to receive it today, I've got to say that's a pretty quick delivery from the time they shipped it out.

      Pretty much said they cant deliver this year and "maybe" by 1st or 2nd week of Jan.
      Otherwise the late January date on the Dell order website looks to be accurate est date.
      I was just going to forget about this monitor until i get an email update for delivery. The excited wait has gone, no more refreshing this page 😂

          Agree. My Dell order status has had no update after the last two delay announcements (last was Ship 15th Dec, Del 21st Dec…now both struck out in grey, no further emails).

          I waited till the 23rd based on Limaaa's earlier advice…and dm'd him twice since that date as recommended if we didn't receive anything by then, but no response. I imagine he's inundated with many similar messages.

          It'd be good to at least know if we are now wasting our time staying at home waiting for something that isn't going to come.

            DM'd Limaaa too and advised he will get back to me within 24/48 hrs; this was on the 20th Dec.
            In the future I probably won't be buying from Dell via eBay.
            Why would they even allow customers to purchase when they know stock isn't available; particularly during the biggest sales of the year.
            Extremely unprofessional and disappointed.

    Hey guys, sorry for the unresponsiveness. I was consistently making contact with Dell up until Xmas eve and then needed to focus on family plans for Xmas.

    The current situation is this, I haven't responded because I don't have much to respond with. Dell did contact me and alert me that some orders may be delayed due to some issues with star track and they'll rectify it for customers who didn't receive their orders in the specified time.

    I am trying to chase down specific cases, order numbers and any undelivered orders from all 3 Black Friday deals and get accurate information about your orders and delivery. Contact has been slow, I'll assume due to Xmas and people celebrating with family, but I have resumed my efforts and I hope to get something substantial before NYE.

    I'm sorry to those who didn't get their orders in time for Xmas, I do understand the lack of information / contact can be frustrating. I have personally responded to all 60 dm's to those who contacted me. I'll be contacting Dell to find out about specific order issues as well as those still waiting for their orders to arrive.

    Some quick help:

    • If you need to update address, send the ebay team a msg requesting this as well as contacting me.

    • To cancel an order same as above.

    • To sort out star track delivery issues that require dell's approval contact me with all info you can provide.

    • Those asking if new deals for boxing day, no. Our priority is currently making sure all those who ordered get their units first. Dell website has some boxing day discounts.

    • To those who didn't receive their units by eta /Xmas. Will be looking to rectify this and get you your orders.

    • To those wanting an update when you can realistically expect your order, I'm on it. My priority right now is getting undelivered orders to their purchasers and accurate info pertaining to orders still awaiting shipping.

    I've brought a s2721DGF at black Friday from eBay. The delivery seems pretty late, have anyone who brought received it yet? Mainly asking because the tracking has stayed on at 'Tracking provided' for like a month and they haven't responded to me.

We are working to ship your order as quickly as possible. The delivery date for your order to arrive has been updated to mar. 09, 2021."

    I'm so confused.

    My order didn't arrive by the estimated time of 21st December so I contacted Dell on eBay and resolved it to receive a complementary mouse and the order mid-January. Now the order has been refunded automatically despite no indications I wanted a refund and I have again contacted Dell. The order still shows shipping details on eBay and on Dell, the order is in production?

    Really frustrated as I was looking forward to this ever since the day of the deal and now I don't know if my order has been cancelled in Dell's system…

              • @RichardL: Yeah unfortunately if you select the wrong option it opens a request. eBay forces unfamiliar buyers into this scenario and gives the seller limited time to respond so to protect themselves sellers will refund if it hasn't shipped yet. The thing about these 'requests' is that it has a negative effect on 'seller metrics' which can't be reversed. eBay takes punitive action in the way of reduced visibility or increased fees for poor metrics. Buyers need to avoid opening a request wherever possible if the situation can be resolved through messages.

      Here's the eBay Message I received from Dell, after contacting them:

      Because the case was escalated, a full refund has been issued that also resulted for the order to be cancelled on our end.

      Unfortunately, we have no way to reverse it as the transaction has now been considered as closed by eBay. Nonetheless, we checked this with our Head Office and we have been informed that we can arrange for you to repurchase the item, still with the 20% off. This will be treated as a new order. Let us know if you wish to proceed.

      We'll see what happens…

          I think people are misinterpreting this maybe? I took it as, why aren't people doing their research into these type of deals as there's an expectation of a waiting period. I honestly bought the DGF expecting to be waiting a month or so.

    My AW3821DW arrived yesterday (31/12/2020) thank you LiMaaa. Although I haven't had much chance to use it yet, I have already noticed how buttery the move from 60Hz to 144Hz is in Windows alone. I am really happy with the monitor itself so far, thank you.

    Hi LiMaaa, I received my AW38 from the ebay sale a few days before xmas. Somehow I've have just managed to crack the screen with a slight slip and minimal pressure with my thumb while adjusting the tilt angle.

    I'm beyond devastated and have already reached out to dell support to see if I can get it repaired. I just thought I'd reach out to you and see if there was anyway you could assist with paid repair or whatnot? Either way I do appreciate the deal

    Guys be careful, the pressure I applied was tiny. I've never even cracked a phone screen before :(

        Just an update, Dell is refusing to warranty (which I never asked for!) and there is no possible paid option for repair.

        Only solution is to buy a new monitor.
        I'm following up with my insurer and the ACCC (in regards to no chance at paid repair and the fragility of the lcd)

        I just want to repeat how fragile these curved lcd's are guys, without exaggerating.. A sturdy ant would've survived the pressure I accidently put on the panel to adjust the tilt.

        In addition, I hate myself but I still love LiMaaa for the opportunity to own one of these guys for a couple weeks.

          I’m still waiting for my day 1 dead pixel monitor to be replaced, but given the delays others have faced I’ll just wait it out…dell have been pretty good so far with updates etc

          • @bowtiehoon: Dell is completely not at fault. Would've thought doing the right thing, taking 100% blame seems reasonable to be able to buy a new panel/repair? Just a real bummer man.

            I guess my question to the ACCC revolves around the legalities selling a brand new effectively $2k+ product with no option for paid repairs at all. I don't know any other consumer products in this price range that has no option for repair what so ever. Doesn't help it cracked like an eggshell, if all else fails ill do a YT vid to show how easily these things crack. Since for some reason I can't leave a review on their site.

            I'm not out for freebies or anything just some other option aside from paying $2250 and waiting another few months.

              Manufacturers must provide spare parts and repair facilities for a reasonable time after purchase. This applies even if you did not purchase the goods directly from the manufacturer.

              This guarantee does not apply if the manufacturer or seller tells you when you buy the product that repairs and spare parts will be available for only a limited time.

              If the manufacturer is overseas and does not have a place of business in Australia, the business that imports the goods is considered to be the manufacturer.

              Fixing a problem: what the manufacturer must do

              If a manufacturer does not take steps to ensure that spare parts and repair facilities are available, they should compensate you for any:

              drop in the product’s value
              losses caused by the lack of spare parts or repair facilities
              costs associated with returning the product. 
              

              The seller does not have to fix a problem relating to spare parts and repair facilities.

                  @bowtiehoon: No this is for paid repair of an item I accidently broke. I talked to the ACCC and explained the whole situation.

                  EDIT- example would be a smartphone repair, all manufacturers offer a paid repair or replacement option if you break your 2 week old phone screen etc.

                  No doubt I'm an absolute dingus! But a manufacturer saying "only option is to buy a new one" isn't really acceptable in my view. I guess it's the law & vibe right?

This broken monitor surley has some value to dell, I presume this is how the refurb pool is established along with the ones received doa or damaged in transit etc. They repair & use those.

                      That's all I'm asking for and I'm sure that it's not impossible or unreasonable.

      No way I can really assist with this as it goes through a different department, but I suggest explaining you got in on the deal, there were delays, which is why the mouse was thrown in and ask them to consider using the panel exchange procedure to help you out. Hopefully they take that all into account and sort you out.

        Yeah i did and i then read here about the cancellations so i cancelled the request, a few days later they messaged me with the offer. They just got back to me again saying the mouse will ship separately to the monitor and they will advise me of when each item has shipped..

  • My monitor arrived last night. Didn't get much (any?) warning from ebay/dell. Think I checked dell tracking either yesterday morning or the day before and it said shipping: 1/2 and delivery: 6/2. Was pretty impressed when Startrack showed up in the afternoon.

        I checked the dell tracker and it says it was Shipped + Delivered. Under Shipped I've also got a link to the startrack tracker. I would imagine that if they'd attempted to deliver you'd at least have that.

    Sent an email to Dell and got informed that my order is under part shortage hold. I thought that there was stock held specifically for this deal…

    They informed me that my order would get fulfilled on 3rd Feb 2021 and expected to be delivered on or before 7th Feb 2021. The original ETA of the order 29th Jan 2021 was a tentative date.

    This is actually frustrating when my new pc has been built for nearly two months now and I can't even experience it properly because of these delays

      I'd love to hear from LiMaaa to see if there is any accuracy in this.. It seems as if Dell Support are treating all of these orders as new from the dell site and not 'pre-secured- stock', hence every update people get is 'no-stock' or 'extended delays'.

      I was more than happy to wait until the 14th, and I know Dell shipping can be incredibly fast (once dispatched), but it's looking very unlikely that the date LiMaa gave will be met for most people.

        Agreed, was to my knowledge that these units were "secure" for LiMaaa's unqiue deal on ozbargain, though I might be wrong. Compensation mouse aint gonna cut it, might pull the plug and get a refund and avoid Dell from now on. The confirmation email even stated "Monitors and Accessories are coming from Sydney warehouses are usually delivered within 5-10 working days. Already complained that even when i myself a customer who is also local in sydney already waited this long.

        Referred deal to a friend who wanted to upgraded 1080p 60hz to 1440p 144Hz+ gaming for their first time. Several gaming titles/expansions released last month. Coulda gamed together with the intention of using the awesome monitor. Oh well I regret referring them to the deal in a way.

    Ordered Black Friday DGF, they replied to my eBay message late December 2020 saying to expect it to be shipped on the first or second week of Jan. Contacted Dell through the order support site today and got an email saying "Order has being under stock constrain situation and ETA for fulfilment is on or before 29th January". No idea what that means.

    14th Jan delivery starting to look bleak, emailed Dell and got the response that they were expecting a large shipment to their warehouse on the 11th. Since my previous email they have not responded since.

    Gotta say I'm a little salty as my order processed 20 seconds after 7pm, would hate to know people who were afterwards are the ones receiving their monitors already. Two weeks of Christmas break left, come through for us LiMaaa!

    I've had my order pending since September (OzBaragin deal, around $507). LiMaaa will know who I am. Months and months of no news, only to find out that my payment had failed while everyone else got their monitors (found this out on November). I only found out via contact. There was no way of knowing as my order only said 'Pending'. To make it up, Dell would make a custom listing via eBay, made specifically for me, that would had been put up before Black Friday to ensure I would get the monitor with confirmed payment. I was PROMISED that I would get my monitor earlier than everyone else. And you guys can guess what happened. And considering the unlikeliness of Dell actually delivering monitors on the ETA, I probably won't be getting my monitor any time sooner.

    The Dell team seriously needs to get a grip. I shouldn't have to be treated like this. The monitor should have been here, in my house, back in September 2020.

      • I paid via Paypal. After I had purchased via Paypal directly on the Dell site, my Paypal told me the payment to Dell (recipient) was 'Pending'. No bank transactions ever occurred because Dell never ever accepted the payment.

    This is a little confusing. "When will item be shipped" followed by an ETA (Estimated time of arrival). Shipping date vs arrival dates are obviously going to be different.

      So it seems that they 180'd on the 1000 apparently allocated stock for us. Guaranteed that they fulfilled those website deal orders before us even though we ordered first, just so that they could do some damage control on those reviews. We'd all have them by now if the first 1000 DGF's allocated went to us. Surely it doesn't now take two months to fulfil 1000 DGFs if they are all prioritised from the deal in one block.

      The way I interpret that email as a normal consumer regarding "higher than expected demand" - "Yes we placed orders far exceeding the amount of stock we have allocated for this deal and have placed an order to make up for it". Considering it seems like only a handful of peeps got theirs haha.

    Dell ebay reply seems to be a copy/paste reply as it is the same as everyone else is receiving.

    LiMaaa disappearing from this deal is more of a concern to me. After all this time waiting I have not received 1 email explaining the delays, they where happy to take the money but no correspondence since is very disappointing.

I was able to access my order number through this site https://schenkermobile.dbschenker.com.au/ and it states Your shipment:[87————] has been already processed in the warehouse, no further changes allowed. Earlier in the day it gave me the option to change my delivery address and request a time of delivery. Im 99% sure you'll get the monitor in the next 7 days

    I’m flabbergasted over receiving a revised shipping date in late February after already waiting all of this time…

    Would have been good information to know that this deal was clearly a back order from the start, and they were just hoping to obtain stock to make the deliveries in the given window.

    I called Dell a couple days ago, they told me that they were expecting stock around the end of this week and the DGF would get shipped next week. I messaged through Ebay yesterday and they told me the order will be fulfilled between next week and the end of the month. Now people are getting late Feb delivery dates. I didn't get any email like that, my Dell order details page hasn't changed since December, the Dell portal website never updated past "out of stock at local warehouse"… at least give everyone updates so I know whether or not to refund the order and just get something else now.

    However recently via the dellpleorder site, has been updated from out of stock to ETA delivery on the 17th or 18th of Jan.
    Then again, its obvious we cant try any of their tracking dates at this point. For all i know they can just keep shifting dates further. Who knows what they'll do.

    If they actually didn't have stock and didn't intend to deliver by the timeframe indicated, it's straight up illegal as they've already taken the money.

    I had too much faith in Limaaa, defended her/him against other posters, and reserved my judgement until the very end. I purchased the DGF 20 seconds into the deal and then still nothing.

      My DGF still hasn't changed from it's ship date of the 25th of Jan so I hope it gets here by then. I am going to be so annoyed if I get an update saying it's coming in February like some here have stated.

    It seems that we bought it with the cheapest price so they wouldn’t put us in the highest priority. In the previous posts, someone already got monitors with the slightly higher price after our Black Friday deal. That’s really FAIR. I guess we have to wait for a much longer as the cost of international shipping has been raised absurdly in recent months whether via airplanes or ships due to the pandemic. I doubt there are no incentives for Dell to pay this high shipping cost to fulfil our cheap order.

    Maybe you are right. I bought the first DGF from ebay on black friday, and paid $469. The ETA was 14th of Jan, but it is changed to 19th of Feb now. I bought another DGF from dell web site on 28th of Dec, paid $520. The ETA is 11th of Feb at the moment. But not sure if the ETA for the second DGF will be changed in the future or not.

    As this is my first experience with Dell, I would of thought they'd do orders as a 'first come first serve' basis like most businesses
    Purchased my DGF 22 seconds in and got the email yesterday about it being delayed till the 22nd Feb lol
    Also I get it that there are inevitable delays these days, but having that initial mentality of a 'set' delivery period does come through as a disappointment when it's not met.
    Can't really help but wait I guess..

    Dell is clearly not very smart. I checked this website and it says my delivery is due between Sunday and Monday. Pretty sure no one does deliveries on a Sunday lol.
    Seeing all the comments here about delay I have serious doubts I will see it on Monday especially seeing there are no tracking or shipping updates for this apparent Monday delivery 🙄

  • Haven't received any new emails regarding the late Feb ETA date change. Mine still says "In production" on the website tracking, and "Out of stock" on the tracking portal.

    Dell did email me back through Ebay though apologetically and offered me the complimentary gaming mouse for waiting. The email stated that they were experiencing service impacts from the Warehouse and Logistics side due to the overwhelming number of orders received during the Black Friday sale that has resulted in some delays. They assured that "they are working very hard in getting the unit dispatched the soonest possible time."

    But yeah, no new ETA timeframe for me.

    I checked the dell portal yesterday and had my status change from "out of stock" to "ETA of Between 17/01/2021 And 18/01/2021" and i have now checked again to find that it has been shipped via star track and will arrive on ETA 18/01/2021. (DGF monitor, location Vic). I assume the dell portal maybe the most accurate from what I've seen from people on this forum

    My estimated despatch/arrival for the DGF was originally Jan 13th/18th per the Dell portal. The DBschenker portal was updated recently to say ETA 18th-19th. It was shipped today.

    So maybe the revised ETA's are accurate?

      • DBschenker stated it was shipped with a tracking number but it wasn't reflected on the Dell portal. After a few hours the Dell portal now shows it as shipped too.

    What in the hell is going on over at DELL? There are 4 sources of information and all 4 are giving completely different answers.
    Dell Ebay says it was shipped on the 7th of December!
    The Dell website says In Production with an ETA of Jan 30th, it has said this since day 1.
    The Customer Service rep who emailed me said ETA of Feb 7th.
    The Dell Portal (not even sure where this came from, just checked it now) says that it was shipped today 15/01 and ETA of 18/01.

    This level of incompetence is beyond a joke. I will NEVER be buying from Dell again, even if the price was good and the long wait was expected, i can't get over how bad this mess is.

      Me too! This is my first purchase of a Dell product and it will certainly be my last. The amount of misinformation given about shipping is beyond a joke. I hope the monitor is good and not defected because I would hate to have to deal with Dell customer service. The gaming mouse they offered is probably gonna take 2 months to come as well. I am still stunned that such a big company like this can stuff it up so badly. I have bought off tiny Ebay stores that give me correct shipping dates so why is it so hard for Dell? It's absolutely ridiculous!

        • truck out just means it's left the depot that Startrack received it.

          i.e. Mine is being delivered to Adelaide and also says truck out in Sydney

  • my delivery date was estimated like a lot of you for the 17th jan via the dell portal. i called the customer support and asked when i would realistically expect it and was told itd ship by february 3rd and to expected before the 8th of feb. weather this is accurate or will be the same for everyone felt it worthwhile sharing .

    I'm also in the "shipped today" bunch, but had a strange twist to it! I received 2 emails from StarTrack, first at 12.30 saying 'On Board for Delivery', second at 3.30 saying 'Delivered'. I wasn't at home but knew my partner was, so I texted just to check that everything had gone well.

    She texted back to say no delivery, no nothing. Searched everywhere around our place (part of a development, couriers hey confused all the time and just drop shit at random neighbours houses), but nada.

    So I check the tracking details from the email, it says delivered to Melbourne (where I am), and signed for by "Tim T" (not my last initial). Straight away I'm freaking out thinking delivery person has helped themself blah blah stupid paranoia.

    I finally, 2 hours later, check the Dell page for my order to find contact details to start asking questions, and it's giving me a different story. Still with StarTrack, but on a truck from Sydney, "In Transit".

    So I've somehow got emails about a different delivery, not for me, but for someone in the same city and with the same name, on the same day as I'm hoping the DGF finally gets delivered. Absolutely put me through the ringer, thinking how am I going to get StarTrack/Dell to believe I didn't get it delivered etc etc. In the end, must have just been a mistake from StarTrack, and they've attached my email address to a different delivery. Really bizarre, but a great relief when I realised I didn't have to chase it up (yet!)

    Dbs portal now showing ETA 20/1-21/1 vs the 20/1-24/1 it showed yesterday though still not showing as shipped meanwhile the dell order support page is now showing. "Order not found"

        Same thing happened with me on the dell website but i think the dell aus website for order support is bugging out and redirecting to the dell US order support which comes up with order not found. I tried again a few times and just now it sent me to the dell au site correctly which showed my order tracking on it. You can tell if its the US site when the url has en-us instead of en-au.

    I just found out that the dbschenker site is really unsecure. You can type in random order numbers and find out other people's ordered items, names, addresses and phone number. Is this a common thing for order tracking sites?

  • Mine arrived this morning after a missed delivery yesterday (StarTrack deliver early in my area it seems! Not great for a shift worker…). Seemed like it was an automatic redelivery attempt the next day, couldn't get anything going on their website using the card they left (kept telling me my order wasn't showing up as a missed delivery), so if you do miss your delivery don't stress, they should try again the next day.

    Display seems nice, not setting my world on fire but a big step up from what I had previously. Will tide me over nicely until we can get some reasonably sized/priced OLED monitors in a few years fingers and toes crossed

        Mine just got delivered and comes in the primary retail boxes, no additional protection. The boxes look like they been through hell. Hopefully they are well build and can take the beating, at work now and hope no DOA or dead pixel after this grueling wait. Fingers crossed

        I just did a brief check on the monitor and everything seems fine so far. The box was slight deformed but at least the monitor is okay.

        Anyone have suggestions on how to test the monitor? I done some basic dead pixel check and UFO refresh rate test.

        I wouldn't worry to much about it, mine was fine had a few dark rub marks on the box, that's it. There is plenty of more heavy duty type cardboard padding around it on the inside of the box.

    My DGF was delivered to local startrack depot as is typical out here in the country. Anyway just went and got it and set it up beautiful looking screen out of the box only gripe is the tiny power button the paper it comes with clearly shows its on the bottom right feeling around for it for a few minutes lol. Glad to see everyone is finally getting theirs too.

        Technically, no. The Sale of Goods Act says delivery to carrier is prima facie delivery to buyer. Keep this in mind if you think you don't ever need to bother with insurance.

  • Question to other s2721dgf owners: does your monitor have a gap between the bottom metal bezel and the screen? Mine has a gap with the screen (if you look downwards from above the monitor) and it looks like it could collect things like dust etc

      my 2721 just arrived 21st Jan. I can see there's a tiny 1mm gap above the front bezel where the Dell logo is located. If you look around the edges of the monitor
      closely you will see similar gaps all around the monitor. I think that might just be how it is.

    Anyone know the best colour settings for the dgf? Obviously this depends on the room ambience and your monitor etc. But just after a general profile.

    after using 1080p for so many years moving to 1440p has been fun, image is so much sharper and with 3080 I can maintain performance in everything easily :)

    My (profanity) monitor has cracks all over it, after months of waiting I get this, I am beyond upset and frustrated.

      Difficult to tell from just a photo, cam quality, cam angle, monitor settings…etc may yield different results. If it's really bothering you, you should return it.

    • I have three S2721DGF and I would say it's normal. Bleeding is more significant on a IPS than VA. That's why I don't suggest people buying IPS TV. The letter box makes it even worse

    Finally arrived today.

    Black is worse than I was hoping for and noticeable backlight white glow from bottom left and orange from bottom right. 2008 IPS monitor screen and 2015 Macbook has significantly darker blacks, less reflection and less glow and more uniform in comparison.

    A S2721D is coming tomorrow, so will be interesting to see how that compares.

    I've received my 2721DGF. Love the monitor but unfortunately MacOS doesn't scale properly on QHD displays so I'll have to use my 4K monitor (2721Q) instead.

      Seems to be no complaint, no mouse. I didn't bother to contact customer service in case they auto-cancelled my order like some others have experienced, now my monitor has arrived and I'm unsure if it's even worth contacting them at this point.

        Complained twice, even mentioned people who ordered later and complained got a mouse…. No mention of a mouse.

        Wouldn't recommend going through Dell just in-case you have to deal with their support team…. So frustrating.

    • I appreciate the monitor deal and am happy with the purchase, however I don't understand how Dell completed this 'bonus' offer of a mouse for only select customers.

      You basically miss out if even if you had the same deal and similar delivery times as people who eventually got the mouse. I understand that providing a free mouse to all customers would be crazy but some consistency/justification would be nice.

      How do you decide who gets the mouse and who doesn't? Just to clarify, I ordered the DGF and did not receive a mouse.

    Hey all! I hope you're loving your new S2721DGF monitor as much as I am.

    Was just wondering, have you opted to calibrate around HDR permenantly on, or are doing what I'm doing and calibrating on SDR and activating HDR when needed.

    So many games are different. Some need HDR in Windows on to register HDR in game, some can activate it in game.

    Some, like Star Wars Jedi Fallen Order, benefit from:

    1) HDR Windows Settings ON

    2) Start game, HDR Game Settings ON.

    3) Alt-Tab, Game still running, HDR Windows Settings OFF.

    It brings the sexy blacks back in and removes the washed out look.

    • Thinking the same thing, I haven't made a complaint which others have said, just presumed it's be automatically handled

    • Cause of my dead pixel they stuffed around with my original order and created a new order so I could get the replacement sometime in feb … hoping I automatically still get the free mouse.

    Dell 27" S2721DGF finally arrived after jumping through multiple hoops (Order Cancellation, reordering, etc).

    Will set it up over the weekend.

    Absolute joke. Dell and StarTrack are a joke. Extremely delayed delivery, as such my addressed changed while waiting for it. Tried to arrange a redelivery. Dell sent a redeliver request but failed to update any details about the delivery address despite telling me they have. StarTrack then kept trying to deliver it to an address no one would be at, all because Dell didn't actually update anything like they said they did. I then arranged to pick it up from the StarTrack depot to then find out that they sent it back to Dell the day after my request.
    It's not hard guys. Maybe you just didn't want the sale to go through and did your best to force a refund. That's what it seems like.

  • Who can I talk to so something can actually happen with my order? Because Dell was behind schedule I was away when the monitor was to be delivered and because StarTracks online tool is garbage I couldn't book for redelivery. Now the monitor has been sitting in Sydney with Dell for 17 days and nothing has happened. Dell customer support is completely useless.

    For those waiting for their complimentary mouse i asked them on eBay to give me an order number for the mouse so that i could track its progress myself instead of asking them each week. Only then was an order made for me, prior to that it was just "oh it will be sent soon" etc. They gave me an order number yesterday, it shipped today and should be delivered tomorrow. I think that they are hoping people give up and forget about it, they don't really want to be giving things away for free unless you bug them.

        Nice one! For me i don't think its a coincidence, the invoice they sent me was dated the same as their reply email after i asked for an invoice. Meaning they only created the invoice after i asked instead of letting them keep saying "soon". My mouse came today and i'm now a happy camper.

      Personally LiMaaa, I think Dell is doing their very best to get all these orders fulfilled on time but the backend of Dell is truly shocking with unreliable shipping date and some orders on Dell website were reported delivered earlier than this deal.

      On the product, I was ecstatic that I was able to order one under 4 mins and I am very happy with the product itself.

        That's awesome to hear. Yeh my aim is to get shipping information streamlined so that at the least we can all get viable and accurate details to plan around when products will arrive. I've learned that waiting isn't so much an issue as is expecting something and it not arriving when expected.

        I'll definitely pass some feedback over to Dell and see if we can improve on that in future deals.

Just a bit confused, as Dell has never said anything about it and the only place I heard about it was through OzBargain and that it would be sent to us automatically if we kept our order after the delay and price drop.

      I ordered the AW38 and am very happy with it. Only negative is the Alienware software for the RGB is terrible and was consuming 20% plus CPU time in the background while doing nothing.
