  • guys, I have a question - not too much into these. Can I buy this and skin only from bunnings and use them together?

    • +2

Get a battery and yes you can

    • +1

The drill bits in the Bosch kit will work with all drills.
Do you have a battery and charger for the Ozito drill?

      • +1

The 'skin only' reference to the drill means it doesn't include the battery

        • Yeah it's the drill only. Generally works out cheaper to buy a kit with the battery and charger included. But worth having a look around to see what's there with these sales today. I know Amazon is having some sales on Worx tools as well.

Except you won't look as cool without a matching Bosch drill..

  • Thanks op! Great deal.

  • Whats the quality like on these bits?

    • Used 7m masonry and so far after 4 holes the drill bit is in top condition, but I did feel that it was harder to drill with them compared to other drill bits I had bought previously [don't remember when or where] XD. Case is a hazard though got to be be carful or your going cut yourself.

    • They're OK for a home user that rarely needs them. We had them at work for emergency use (IT dept, don't need a drill often) and they're better than nothing but wear out and break quickly if you do start really using them.

    • +1

Honestly, the quality isn't great. I've had several of the drill bits and screwdriver bits snap under pretty light use.

But it's a handy case and you get a wide variety, which is handy if you're not sure what you will need.

I found the same. Was disappointed with how quick the bits would blunt. Probably should have expected that as Green Bosch = essentially home use, Blue Bosch = Trade quality.

    • I bought a similar, smaller set of Bosch bits a few years ago that was was in the reduced to clear bin at Stratco. I've broken nearly every bit now so wouldn't recommend.

Similar to what @MrMedoMan posted, after breaking the Masonry bit I needed (inside the wall!) I went to bunnings and bought a decent quality bit and it was like night and day.

  • Just bought it for $44 4 days ago… damn. If I contact amazon well they give me discount and refund diffrence?

    • +3

Why don't you do that and tell us.

    • +2

no they wont , you can return for refund

    • Even with $44, I think it's still a very good deal as starter kit.

  • Wondering the difference between this and the x-line? See eg, https://www.amazon.com.au/Bosch-Piece-Titanium-Drill-Screwdr…

    • 21 pieces

  • +1

Bought these in a sale last year, quality is pretty average IMHO. They work ok, but honestly I feel the set of Craftright bits from Bunnings I have cut better. Wide range of bits for the money though!

  • +2

I bought one of these sets previously for $29.9, for the amount you pay and the pieces you get its worth it! Just be advised there is no Hex4

  • if i have a cordless Bosch IX screwdriver, will these attachments work with it?

    • +1

Prob a bit weak for drilling

  • +1

I recently purchased a set of Bosch cobalt bits and they are amazing. I drilled through a few things with ease and they were very forgiving. Fork out a bit more if you want to do anything serious.

Otherwise this would be excellent value for money

  • bought thanks, lucky i waited or else i would of paid $44 a week ago

  • Hoping for more deals on Milwaukee (other than their own Red Thursday deal) and hand tools - pliers, screwdrivers etc

  • Have this, the ratchet screwdriver doesn't always work has it should but no other complaints.

  • A timely bargain. Thank you OP

  • A timely bargain. Thank you OP

  • Thanks good spot. Got one.

  • Tempting. But $5 for shipping is turning me off.

Which gets me into a should I/shouldn't I on Amazon Prime… at which point I'll probably buy nothing lol

  • +1

I got this last year for the same price.

The kit has been pretty useful for odd jobs around the home:
    - lawn mower maintenance (socket)
    - swapping car lightbulbs (socket)
    - replace smoke alarms (screwdriver and drill bits)
    - install baby gates (screwdriver and drill bits)
    - tighten door hinges (screwdriver with large bit to avoid stripping the thread)

I wouldn't try to drill through brick or concrete with his kit. I've got some specific bits for an impact hammer drill.
