Long time lurker, first time posting :)

Dominion Board game 2nd Edition on sale from Amazon AU for $47.85. I've been waiting for a deal for a while. Historical low is $45.31 late last year. The intrigue expansion is also on sale for $40.96 however I hear the seaside expansion is better but it's not on sale unfortunately

2nd Edition features updated cards, artwork and streamlined rules

You are a monarch, like your parents before you, a ruler of a small pleasant kingdom of rivers and evergreens. Unlike your parents, however, you have hopes… dreams! You want a bigger kingdom, more pleasant, with more rivers, and a wider variety of trees.
This is a game of building a deck of cards

The deck contains your resources, victory points, and the things you can do. It starts out a small sad collection of Estates and Coppers, but you hope that by the end of the game it will be brimming with Gold, Provinces, and the inhabitants and structures of your kingdom.

  • Careful, Hugo Chavez is going to sleep with your wife, if you buy this!

    • Wut.

      • Google "Dominion" and "Chavez".

All revealed by the Hunter Biden laptop files!

  • Good deal, but I would buy big box instead as base game is quite limited IMO

I think with this deal, you're still better off buying this and intrigue separately rather than the big box

      • Yeah Intrigue is $40.96.

Can't see any copies of big box any where for even close to $88.81

Great game, good price. This is a good way to start.

If anyone is thinking about which expansion to get as their second one, I highly recommend prosperity was the High value Coins and Colonies are probably my favourites and interchange with all the other expansions very well.

    currently $70 on Amazon

almost feel as if base game is the cheap printer
you feel the pinch when you go for the cartridges :)

  • $37.85 for First Time Amazon App Users

    how does that work?

    • If you've never used the app before you get given a $10 credit

This is a seriously great game, would highly recommend if you like card games at all. You can learn the rules in 5 minutes, and the setup/teardown time is equally short, but it actually has a lot of strategy, and there's so much variety that it always stays interesting. If you like it and want to get an expansion, I'd start with Intrigue which has some really interesting and powerful cards without really changing/adding core game mechanics. I'd then go Hinterlands if you want to continue keeping it simple, Prosperity or Seaside if you want to mix it up a little more, or one of the newer ones (eg Adventures or Nocturnes) if you really want to make things different. Be wary of getting the Alchemy expansion, as it is actually only a mini-expansion and a lot of people don't like it.

    • Thanks! It's really helpful to get insight into what expansions to get afterwards
