A total of $389 + $50 FEDEX shipping = $USD439.

-Been researching for a Tritium illuminated Automatic Diver watch for a while now. You will be hard-pressed to find a T100 millicuries, Automatic movement, Solid build diver anywhere near this price internationally let alone Australia.
I understand this is not everyone’s cup of tea, only if you appreciate tritium illumination and automatic diver styled watches.

LOL "watchuseek" is a ridiculously well thought out name.

    Excellent post, ruthless kid :)
Even though you are catering to a very small percentage of OzB users, you have put a huge amount of effort into this post. If I wasn't already the proud owner of a Seamaster, I would absolutely jump on this deal - fantastic watch at a very good price.

      Thank you for the comment.
Seamaster Planet Ocean would be my next watch, if I'd change my Job. lol ^_^

    Yeah +1 for effort.

Nice timepiece must resist impulsive buy

    • you know you want the radioactive glow on you :P

  • I have read the Miyota 8215 movement in this watch could be 20sec off per day.

    • +1

I guess it could be the same with many mid-range automatic movements, they are automatic watches after all :P

It can be regulated via either facing up or down apparantely.

  • 'Long time lurker, infrequent contributor.'

    props

    • Couldn't help my self :P

  • how does this watch compare to the Marathon SAR tritium watches?

    • Never had that one myself. Judging from websites.

The Marathon is a Quartz watch (if you prefer quartz)
T25 Tritium (one quater of the tritium content).

Bit misleading to brand the watch "Tritium" (a radioactive type of lume) when it's using Superluminova on the dial…

    • +1

      markings and hands are tritium.
      numbers etc are superluminova

      • -1

        Eh, forget I spoke.
Brand is "Deep Blue", just the title of the listing looked like the watch was branded "Tritium".

        • +1

          thanks changed ^^

  • NBC Shop used to sell these about $298 sale price out of stock now, good effort though.

    • +1

I brought that point up to the shop owner, he adjusted the price as low as he could.
Do bear in mind that ShopNBC does specials hour promotions, have limited stocks. They do NOT Ship Oversea!(its a pity)

hmm.. the Omega Seamaster Planet Ocean looks alot nicer than this.. :)

    • +1

If I had 4k lying around, I would get Planet Ocean….
About 1/8th the price, I think it fares very well.

      • I got my 2200.50 planet ocean for $2.9k from Prestige Time
The shop in the city was selling the same for $5.5k

        • Hi mate, R u taking about prestigetime dot com? Is it a reliable website?

        • +1

          @rodtp
          Yes it is definitely reliable.

        • Their prices are incredibly low when compared to the RRP or even duty free. Thanks for the heads up.

        • +1

          @rodtp
No problem mate - the reason their prices are cheap is that when an official jeweller needs to offload excess stock, they can't just discount willy nilly or the watch brands will get angry at them for reducing the value of their brand. So they sell them to Prestige Time and and PT on-sells the watches online.

They are what is known as grey market watches.

The watches are 100% authentic but not sold via an authorised jeweller.

When mine arrived it had all the boxes, spare parts, international warranty card and authenticity cards and even the name of the jeweller where it originally came from in New York. I had to take my watch for some minor warranty work (at a local watch repairer) and everything went smoothly when I supplied them the Omega warranty credentials.

        • That's awesome and explains everything then. I'm aiming a couple of Longines models so when you mentioned the website I went there to check out and found them with a crazy low price. I will definitely place an order. Once again thanks for your help.

        • @rodtp
Don't forget Customs will get you for GST if you package is marked as costing more than $1000.

So might want to request a price adjustment on the packaging.

Or order them separately if their combined value is more than $1000 but their individual value is less than $1000 each.

Thanks all who have posted in this thread, for showing me that the world has watch-nerds. I feel so guilty, wearing just a common watch.

What exactly does a watch-nerd look for in a watch? (Apart from time, obviously).

    • style, class and quality…my young friend….lol

    • I personally look for a smaller watch to suit my small wrists (which I affectionately refer to as my "bitch wrists"). Other than that; style, price and reliability are my main factors. I bought a second hand Omega Seamaster 2223.80 just over 18 months ago for about $1500 (thanks to our dollar equating a measly 0.84USD at the time). It was in immaculate condition and came with the beautiful red Omega box and all the paperwork/warranty cards. I bought it as a watch I would wear every day - I just wanted something nice.

    • Diff nerds would want diff things I guess :P
Definitely Lumes for me, Tritium T100.
      Maybe a Ball watch next.

    @Postulative
I would say you want a proper watch for the tradition and history it offers.
So therefore buying anything like quartz / battery is a big no-no amongst watch nerds.
An automatic or manual winder is what you want.
Then you want to ensure you don't fall for the trick of buying a watch brand which is actually a fashion label, so you need to avoid brands like LaCroix.
You also want to know the 'movement' which your watch uses and know that it is a good movement, doesn't have issues. For example the Planet Ocean Chronograph movement had reliability issues, whereas the non-Chronograph did not. So research the movement in your watch and ensure it sounds OK.
