  • My opinion might not count for much as I've just signed up after years of reading ozbargain, but I've used shoppingsquare's website, and their ebay business Apus many times.
I find shipping seems expensive, but you can decide for yourself on that.
I've never had trouble. I tended to buy computer things like memory cards, hard drives etc.

  • I bought this http://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/56381 a few weeks ago. It was the Canon Kiss x4, which is the 550d here. The camera was Japanese branded and hence the manuals etc were in Japanese. However, I knew it would be like this in advance.

The product was dispatched after a week and was delivered two working days later. It was delivered from Hong Kong and was exactly as described. As such I have no complaints, but it was a simple buy.

The product was a great deal so overall I was very happy. However, I dread having a warranty claim and what the process will be like.

  • I haven't bought a camera through SS but I did buy the canon 18-200mm lens through their "direct shipping" offers. Agree that shipping is expensive, but the overall price was still much much less than what I would have paid walking into a retail store. Shipping was surprisingly fast, the item arrived within a few days and I have not had any issues with the product.

I've never had any issues or problems with ShoppingSqaure. I do feel that their postage prices border on ridiculous at times, but buyers should really consider the total cost of purchase anyway, not just the item price. Just make sure you're clear about the warranty process (or if Canon provides a global warranty etc).

  • Not fast, not reliable, service is bulk based.

I bought a SGS2 from SS, needless to say they had made a mistake in their pricing so they told other buyers to wait 2 weeks, which stretched out to 5 weeks.

Not once through did they reach out to notify us of the process. (We had to call up.)

It's just your average HK operated store, which claims to operate from Australia. (They operate like one, but their stock is usually already here.) They also tend to deal in grey imports.

You may have a fine experience, let us know.
