don't see the bonus flybuys points.

  • Wish it wasn't 24 months, that's a bit of a commitment for internet

you can cancel any time just pay the remaining balance of the modem $218 i believe.

The modem itself is generally worth more than that.
      It's a great 4g modem.

If you already have a modem you're happy with, flog the Huawei device on eBay and you're laughing

if you can't commit, already have a 4G modem, and need 500GB 4G data, have a look at Optus One $65 Sim Only

      • @viewfinder just walked out of an optus store. This plan is not available to use in a mobile broadband device unless you get a second SIM on the plan for a minimum additional cost of $15 P/m

This condition kills the deal obviously.

    • For those in the bush 7ks from wireless NBN,this is the best we can get 500Gb is like "unlimited" to me. 20 ks from tower speeds 5MBps to 12 MBps.

  • What upload speeds do people get on this modem? I know it's dependent on coverage in the area.. But what do you get?

I've been getting 150mbps down.. But uploads have never crossed 4.5mbps

    • Just ran a speedtest. 90 down 30 up.

      • Thanks. 30 up would be great!

    • all over the shop…
just did a test and go 211 down and 10.9 up

seems odd i usually at least get 40 up and only circa max 120 down.

  • What devices/modems are good for plugging in the $30 optus SIMs (that are regularly on special for $5)? Is the device cost a ripoff if I were to signup and then cancel the plan?

    • B818 i have one and works with hel$tra and vodafail as well. check fakebook or gumcrap for second hand one.

Has anyone tried using the external aerials you can get for these? My speeds are woefully sporadic. 200mpbs to 2mbps with no rhyme or reason….. and im literally 800m from the tower.

  • If only Telstra did a deal like this. I get 3mbps download speeds with Optus in Lilyfield, Sydney, and 200mbps with Telstra.

Got this one on the previous flybuys deal (but without the 10% off unfortunately). Can confirm the modern is good and we're consistently getting speeds in excess of 100 Mbps download. We're in a semi rural area and this craps all over the fixed wireless NBN rubbish we used to have 👍
