    • Stupidly good price considering RRP is $119

      • OOS already. I paid 89 from Amazon :(

        • It lets you add it to your bag despite being out of stock, nice work Kmart

          • +1

@Merlict: It seems a number of other sets do the same….grrrr - I near had a heart attack when I could add the treehouse.

        • Shows 13 available online with free delivery.

    • Ordered it, but just had the order cancelled today, items now unavailable.

    • +8

And you expect there to be a set depicting these millions of things?

      Right…

        • +3

Well then…they didn't include all things.

          • -7

@Dream-cast: I just don't think those handful of things sum up London very well.

            • +2

@AussieZed: This set features the National Gallery, Nelson’s Column, London Eye, Big Ben (the Elizabeth Tower) and Tower Bridge. So you spotted 3 out of 5. Well done!

        • +1

What a silly thing to say. So LEGO should create a set just for AussieZed and what he thinks best depicts London's landmarks…?

    • +2

Kind of like how Sydney can be summed up by a bridge and an opera house?

      • -1

        Exactly.

    • +7

I know right it's crazy that the designers would choose these major landmarks to depict London. Wheres the Clapham fish and chip shop? The South Kensington Post Office? Hackney Central Station?? absolutely kidding themselves!

      • -3

I suppose it's a limitation of the number of pieces, price, and size of the sets. This limits the detail/scale, so you have to go with widely recognisable landmarks.

  • I wish they did a re-run of the Sydney one and made some more Australian scenes.
    Wouldn't mind an Uluru one.

    • The series seems successful so I think they will get around to more aussie cities in time. Tonnes of more iconic well known ones to do before they do more Australian ones I think though.

    • +8

      Wouldn't mind an Uluru one.

So a pile of brown bricks then? Just order a bunch of them from Brick Hawk or Pick-a-Brick on Lego's S@H and make your own.

    • +1

I'd love a Tokyo one with one of those ancient temples and cherry blossoms.

      • +3
        • +1

Yeah! Thanks for that. There's a lego for everything it seems haha.

        • No shinto temple tho… :(

  • I have 5 of these skyline builds and just got the London and New York ones.. anyone have any good display shelves/ideas for them?

    • +2

Store called Muji has heaps of acrylic boxes and display cabinets to choose from

    • +1

Wicked Brick is where I go to buy display cases for my Lego sets. They are designed specifically for each Lego set, some of them even come with vinyl backgrounds to match the sets.

Just a heads up, getting one of those display cases delivered to Aus will usually end up costing more than the actual Lego set itself.

How are the Architecture goes when it comes to Lego investing? I normally collect LEGO Idea range for LEGO Investing.

    • The earlier architecture sets has gone up in value a lot

      • Might stick with LEGO Idea for now I think. I see a lot people don't like LEGO Investing for some reasons, every time I mention LEGO Investing I get negged.

Please make reply as why you are so against it.

From release to retire there is at least 1 - 5 years to buy it for the none investing people

        • I think because it's seen as a form of scalping.

You can call it investing but it doesn't take away from the fact it is still a form of scalping

          • @BLB1984: Not that I negged you. I just see it as supply and demand. But that's the reason you get negged

          • +2

@BLB1984: But you have at least 1 year to make the purchase, some even 5 years to make the purchase.

Even if I buy 5 units of each item (which i dont, i buy 3 of the same item, nothing more), during these times you would have enough time to buy it, with a timeframe of 1 to 5 years.

You see what I fail to understand the negs now?

            • @Aerith-Waifu: My guess..
There's 1-5 years available, but only limited time/stock at the discounted price.
If you buy at RRP for your investments and resell later, I don't think anyone will care.
Buying 3 at good discounts is taking 3 of the limited stock away from a person/kid/family/etc that actually wants the item.

          • +1

@BLB1984: If they were limited edition and people stockpiled I could understand but everyone has the chance to buy Lego sets before the retire.
I don't see it as any different to someone selling a classic car for a premium on what they paid for it.

      • where do you check this up?

        • +1

Just look up all the old lego architecture sets on ebay. Crazy prices!

          • @first in line: thanks - just looked up "lego sydney"… crazy!

            • @[Deactivated]: yup, about triple the original price. And people still buy them

              • @first in line: the opera house was released in 2014 meaning you have to hang on to it for a fair amount of years

hopefully Kmart will honour my order :)

    • +1

Might try shares in a company for investing. Takes up less space in your house.

      • I think its safer with lego toys…………

        • +2

If your house burns down you'd still own your shares.

          • @AustriaBargain: True but my legos are all insured. Against fire and theft. I pay a bit more on insurance but not much more

    • I think the general rule of thumb is to avoid the technic line.

Speed Champion also have gone up quite a lot for retired sets

  • OOS

  • Just ordered my first sets of Lego! Trafalgar & New York.
    Finally back at it :)

    • +4

The beginning of the end for your wallet…

  • Woah, is the afterpay limit $2000 now?

  • Seems san Francisco is in stock for $55, which is cheaper than Amazon.

So tempted to get the Porsche for $175 though…

    • Lego executives only live once, go on and make their lives a little bit better by buying it.

  • Apparently the Vegas one is 501 pieces… That's a lot of small pieces in a small box

  • Title is wrong. Its 21034, not 21304. 21304 is a Dr Who set.

  • ugh… Still waiting for the Tokyo set to go on sale
