TCL 75" C815 4K PREMIUM UHD ANDROID QLED TV

Hi Members

Hope all are good.

I am after a 75inch Tv especially for watching movies and sports so any recommendation would be great?

I have just looked on the above subject model but not sure if that's good or Q60T 75 In Samsung?

Any thoughts on those or any other options would be great.

Thanks

If you are after 75" TV and bigger, edge lit TVs (both the TCL and the Q60T are edge lit) will definitely struggle in dark scenes. The TV panel is just too big to light up from the edges, resulting in some really bad backlight bleed.

I don't know what kind of budget you have, so I'm assuming as cheap as possible. For $300-$400 more (depending on the deals available), you can get the Hisense Q8 which has full array back light. FALD TVs divide the back light into small blocks for better contrast and HDR highlights.

Next range up (the $2800-$3000 range), you get the Sony X9000H and Samsung Q80T (cheapest FALD TVs from brand names) These are also the way to go if you are after a next gen console as they should support HDMI 2.1 and 4K120hz.

Depends whether you watch TV in the dark. If you watch TV during the day or in a well-lit room (which many people do most of the time), this isn't that big of a deal, But for serious movie watching, you're right.

If you're going to spend that much, you might as well spend a bit more and go with OLED.

        • excellent point, I automatically assumed movies = dark room viewing.

75"/85" FALD vs 65" OLED.. decisions.. decisions..

I decided to wait until next year and see the HDMI 2.1 adoption on TVs, I'm contemplating an 85" FALD w/ 4k120 1000+ nits peak brightness (Hisense Q8 is so close, the panel can do 120 but the controller can't).

It will also be interesting to see if Hisense makes a 75" dual cell TV

Depends on the use. If you're watching movies, I'd go with the 65" OLED and just sit a bit closer.

For general entertainment (e.g. just having the footy on in the background), them yeah I'd go with the bigger one.

      • I am in a budget of under $2k. I did looked Q80T 75" during BF sale but was not in that budget. Any good Tv under 42k would be great. What's the full model name of Hisense Q8 you talking about may i know please? lastly, what's wrong with Q60T as i can see reviews are still pretty good 4.7/5.

        Thanks
