 - I dont get it why they are so expensive and not very warm either. I am after a very warm jacket (for nordic winter) and compared Montbells to Macpacs and latter have much better insulation ("fill weight" x "fill power"). - The price has nothing to do with Montbells cost and everything to do with a certain (profanity) distributor - Larry Adler - that has sole rights to their brand within Australia. - I''ve posted it many times but this idiot in the 90s or early 2000s got an exclusive contract with Montbell and basically ruined the brand locally. - You will find the exact same Montbell gear in Japan for 50% or less. It is also the reason the "aussie" site is always 1 or 2 seasons behind in gear tech. - I have asked many times about getting a new product imported that I know the cost of (a new series of mountaineering glove for example) and get told either "no we aren't getting them" or get a price 2-3x the RRP in Japan. - My best suggestion is to import directly from Japan to New Zealand and get it while over there. Or buy from Japan directly.

Hmmm, what's that smell? it's me cooking alive! Just what we need in a heat wave.
