I wouldn't say it's the best narrative game of all time, but it's definitely up there.
Best narrative is subjective, it definitely takes a risk, but with it's gameplay by no reasonable metric can this be considered the best narrative game of all time when it feels terrible to play
"feels terrible to play" is also subjective.
It feels bloody fantastic to play.
Go and play a good stealth game, something that's actually renowned for it's gameplay like MGSV, and try and come back with that opinion. In terms of mechanics, it's a slight refresh on a 7 year old game which had sloppy gun mechanics and basic line of sight stealth that they didn't improve on
@cille745: I've played MGS5 (and 4, 3, 2, 1 and Ground Zeroes), and yes, they're great games (although tbh, MGS5 is probably the last one I would cite - MGS3 is the peak of the series for me). I've been gaming for 40 years, I've played a lot of games, great and bad and in between. But MGS being great games in no way detracts from TLOU 1 & 2 also being great games.
@AngusD: I agree completely, I really enjoyed TLOU, what I mean is that you can't say these are the best games of all time when there are games that do things better
