  • thought that was a BBQ grill …

  • I was just looking at this type of thing this morning.
Anyone know how it compares to the traditional Black & Decker Workmate (which is $95 on amazon) ?

    • I watched a lot of vids and read reviews when I was on sale last month - seems to be well regarded. I missed it last deal, but jumped on this one.

I’d prefer the B&D workmate’s design, as having a proper foot step provide a lot more stability and better ergonomically when you saw, drill etc.

I bought it on Prime Day, haven't officially used it yet but it definitely felt very sturdy. Was looking at the Ozito one (very similar) but there were no stocks anywhere near me.

I got this on the last prime day deal, was a bit skeptical because it's made of plastic. It has lots of positive reviews so I took the risk.

Have used it a few times and must admit I am happily surprised with quality. It is sturdy, ergonomic and well designed including the clamps and pegs.

Can highly recommend for home DIY user.

    • Thanks for +ve review, based on yours and other comments from the previous deal, I purchased two of them. Hopefully i can utilise the two weeks xmas break time😃

      • You can join multiple ones together! It includes the joining clips also.

    • Hey mate, just wondering if you can add any feedback on this review on amazon, the review is from July 2018 so I'm wondering if they have made any revisions since the time this person wrote their review

"I find this product interesting yet with some design flaws. When you read that it can carry 300 lbs on it's work table surface, that seems to be as a static mass. However, if you apply even a fraction of that in a dynamic sawing motion, for example, with a piece of wood sticking out over the edge, you quickly realize that it lacks lateral stability and vertical sturdiness on the crucial edge where that force is being exerted. The clamps may be fine for glueing or strictly power tool applications, but if you move to sawing by hand or nailing, for instance, then you see the edge bend and twist, and the aluminum clamping rail on the top start separating from the moulded plastic housing it. So it can in no way replace a solid, edge-supported worktable without carefully analyzing your actual planned usage and work methods. The aluminum struts should have come closer to both end and side edges of the work surface. This is a fairly simple redesign. The edges should have been reinforced. Another issue is vertical clamping, outside the horizontal aluminum rails. The marketing photo shows this as a possible use but when you look underneath the table surface for a safe spot to clamp, there are absolutely none. Everything is thin, extruded plastic ribs to make the top surface more rigid, and there is not a single flat surface to clamp to. The solution is to place a flat piece of wood underneath to distribute the clamping load, but you know you are taking chances, as nowhere does the manual explicitly provide for such a use or deem it safe. Fact - the table locks open but does NOT lock closed, i.e., when folded flat, which makes it trickier to handle or stand straight on its own. Solution: a bungee around the table, passing through the aluminum channels, preferably with smooth, rounded carabiners, so not to scratch the finish. Finally, the fact of being able to stow the clamps on the legs is an interesting feature, but the design of the table does not protect the ends when stowed, and they protrude from both sides when the table is folded, making it unwise to transport it without risking damage to the clamps. So I would wait for version 2 of the Pegasus to take flight if I were you. "

  • Ryobi Folding Table with Two Clamps $129

    Sometimes on discount for $99

I haven't found any good reviews of that table anywhere…

      • It seems to be a rebranded Keter table, which seems to have okay reviews (83% are 5* on amazon).

The other Bunnings option - Irwin - seems to be also sold as Dewalt & gets good reviews too.

There's a cheaper Ryboi wood-top table that has terrible reviews.

        • +1

Yup I've got the original Keter table and it's a decent work table if you don't have space for a dedicated one. Mine is 4-5 years old and still going strong.

      • Sorry, I was thinking of the $59 ryobi table with bad reviews.

    • I recall reading how shit it is. Dunno about those bunnings reviews.. Check elsewhere

  • Back to stock, just ordered the second last one.

  • dang, missed it.. really wanted to get one

  • Missed it 😭

  • Its is back in stock, i just bought one. cheers

It's still saying out of stock for me @epsilon

To anyone looking for a cheap work bench, these on amazon are reasonably well rated but are also an exact clone of the $18.50 craftright workbenches at Bunnings (and also the $59 Ryobi one)

    (and also https://www.bunnings.com.au/ryobi-foldable-workbench-with-ad...)

These are all the same benches from the same manufacturer with re-labelling. that huge 40+ dollar price difference is a giant kick in the teeth though.
