  • I dunno about the backpack, but that's a serious discount. Is that "Suspended vault" thing going to protect my laptop from any side?

I've had one of these for a few years and I'm pretty happy with it. The 'suspended vault' is bullshit - your laptop will still get knocks the the ground and/or side. Its got an ok amount of padding though and i've never had any damage despite carrying two laptops inside most of the time.

      Pros:
      - Material is reasonably thick and good quality
      - Looks good
      - Slim - fits under most airline seats
      - Back padding is decent
      - Black so it doesn't show dirt

      Cons:
      - The stupid rubber tabs on the zips break off reasonably quickly
      - Only 1 main pocket - slim so don't expect do fit heaps in. I get a couple of laptops + my lunchbox, waterbottle and some little shit in the front pockets. If you were also carrying clothes / shoes it might not be big enough for you.
      - Only 1 side pocket - annoying if you're a left hander because the pocket for water bottle / umbrella is on the right
      - One of the two zips on the main pocket broke after about a year of use. I just use the other zip and it still works fine.
      - No lateral clasp on the straps to hold them together.

All in all a pretty good little bag - great for $50, but for $130 there are probably other better options.

    Is it bullet proof

    • No. But its got a parachute in case you need to jump out of an aeroplane.

    • Bullet proof no, resistant yes - you can put a ballistic plate in it, type IIIA should be no problem and that will stop an AK round.

  • This looks just like a bag I got at Microsoft Ignite a few years ago and I have been using it every day since then and loving it.
If it made sense to have two of them I'd be jumping on this for sure.
