  • How good is this? Anyone has experienced using this?

I put 12 into my garage so I can use it as a workshop. Cost was $120 from Costco and about $200 to electrician.
At $5 each, it's crazy good IMO. I'll probably buy a bunch more for backups.

      • What colour? are they warm white?

        • +1

Bright white like an office. Great for task-oriented spaces.

Save people the click, details of lights:

Mirabella's LED downlights have a cool white colour and are dimmable, making them ideal for indoor use. They feature 8 watts of power, 760 lumens and have a 90 degree angle beam. Comes with 1200mm Flex and Play plug.

Cool white is useful for places such as the kitchen and bathrooms but not for living spaces.

Cool white in a kitchen will rob food of its beautiful colours and in the bathroom will make your reflection a pasty grey. Cool white is good for the garage.

I drive past new high-rises with cool white lights visible through the windows everywhere except perhaps one or two apartments where someone has swapped them over to warm, and I think those two people are really the only people in that whole building that I understand.

I have them installed in a commercial setup. They are very good even at the normal price.

A word of caution, it is cool white, which is not suitable for certain rooms. They are very bright, almost too bright that you have to have dimmable switch if your ceiling is not very high.

Just FYI… $x.97 is normally clearance stock for Costco

Which Costco store? I went to Moorabbin, it shows $39.99 and $34.99 for two different models.

  • Hmm is this how my roof would look if I have old downlights in place?

Are they usually just plug and play?

    • It depends on how old your current ones are. If they at one point had halogens on them then definitely not plug and play. If they had LEDs from about over 5yrs again not plug and play. Pretty much if you can remove the bulb it's a no as its powered from a transformer. The current lights in newer house have the led transformer built into the housing. If transformer based on the the 12v downlights you'd need to have a plug base installed or possibly remove the flex cord and install the 2 core directly. Same for a 240v system
