Have been waiting for this to go free again, seems it's permanently free now with a "pro" version containing some extra features.

Seems if you had the old paid app you automatically get the "pro" version of this one too.
Thanks beatsntoons

Best YouTube app on Windows, and arguably one of the best across any platform.
Thankfully I got the Pro for "free" (bought the app ages ago).

I still just use VLC player for my youtube streams. Works well, and no ads.

    • Is this easy to do?

      • +2

Click "open" paste the URL, click OK.

  • What's wrong with browser extensions?

    • I use this on xbox to not get ads every 10 seconds from YouTube

      • would be sweet on switch

      • does it really block ads?

        • +1

          Yes it does

  • It says in the notes that this is free but you have to pay for the pro version as an in-app purchase (?)

    • Pro version has some extra features, the main stuff is free

I see. Thank you for clarifying that.

mytube looks good for consoles as an interface but does it actually block ads?

    • Not sure if 100% of ads are blocked but I was on it for half hour before without getting an ad

I’ve used the app since 2015, never seen an ad.

  • This brings nostalgia. It is what I used during the Windows Phone/Mobile days.

I was certain windows was going to be at the top os, easily the most intuitive and fluid operating system at the time. I had used both android and iOS.

I couldn't have been more wrong.

      • +1

Well you aren't wrong that it is indeed intuitive and fluid, but sadly just, no developers want to make apps on it =S

I agree, but did you try BBOS10? It was leaps and bounds ahead.

But id agree, windows was worlds ahead of android, and matched apple, with added flexibility.

  • why not just use brave browser.. its a chrome browser and blocks ads including youtube.

    • Its an amazing browser if you know how to disable or block its phone home, also.

Otherwise you're just trading your browsing data being mined by google, to being mined by coinvia.

I use it; but i had to block at least 6 'phone home' dns entries to make it be friendly.

      • Got a list you can supply? I'm not seeing much information on this with a quick Google (I could be searching on the wrong terms, of course…)

  • When I press "Get" nothing happens… why is that?

  • What's the deal with this? No ad youtube?
