[Unobtainable] Launtel Standby NBN (1/1mbit*) from $1.20 Per Day ($36.50 Per Month)

Moved to Forum: Original Link

An unusual deal - but perfect for those who need a low bandwidth standby connection for smart home connectivity, back-to-base alarms or movement detection , basic email / web browsing etc. Launtel are offering a 1/1Mbit plan on NBN from $1.20 per day ($36.50 per month) with the ability to ramp those speeds up to whatever as needed. That would make it the cheapest NBN offering in the country.

You can leave it on 1/1Mbit during the week, and turn it up to 50/20 for weekends, for example - and pay $1.08 extra per day that you use the higher speed.

//Update - the speeds are not just slow, but on very low packet priority. From my personal testing, this connection is only good for keeping very basic connectivity online. For example, my pvoutput solar feed continues to update and my weather monitor stays connected and updates. But little else. Good for keeping your home connected at a very basic level. Anything more than this and I would recommend paying the $1.99 per day for the full fat 25/5 plan

Is this a bargain? Well - it's a relatively new offering form Launtel, and no one else can match this price for fixed line NBN - so, I'll let you judge.

They of course offer higher speed options, plus the unique ability to change speeds within minutes (which I personally LOVE). So if you're hardly home but still want your home to remain connected - maybe the standby option is for you - and just crank that speed up to 100Mbit or whatever when you're needing the speed. Pay per day per speed level - easy.

As usual - use referral codes for sign-up credit. Enjoy the free 7 day trial, and the almost instant porting that they offer.

Enjoy - and peace.

Important note
This 1/1 Plan is primarily used to 'pause' an NBN service and is not intended to be a usable service. Actual download / uploads speeds may vary from what is communicated in the deal title.

See comment from the Launtel representative on Whirlpool
"I think it would be best to show 0/0 – it really isn't meant to be a service that is useful for anything except keeping the connection alive and not disconnected from NBN or whichever wholesaler we are using."

Mod: See here, deal isn't actually 1/1 but much slower, deal title is therefore unobtainable. Moved to forums to retain/continue discussion.

    I'm with them right now.

They're not the cheapest, but I like their flexibilty and their support was amazing.
