      I think u meant, amazon deal..thank you.thank you..I’ll be here all day..

  • Warranty wise? Would that have to go through Amazon or can we go with GoPro? Do GoPro entertained grey stock?

    • +1

I believe it is either local AU manufacturer's warranty or Amazon will take care of shipping it to US for servicing. Please correct me if I am mistaken.

Damn! And here I was thinking the $300 worth of Amazon cards I bought last weekend would last a while. Oh well, guess I now know what I'll be buying next Saturday now!

    • How to get 10% off Amazon GC by Zip pay please?

      • Go to 7/11 and buy the physical gift cards with ZipPay

How does this compare to the hero nine?

    • -1

I did quick check and it seems there's nothing major: adds support of 5K30, better stabilization, bigger battery, colour screen on its front etc.

      • Hero 8 does not have a removeable lense, big downside.

        • that's a huge downside.

        • But if you have no intent to remove the lens, maybe not significant downside?

          • +2

@turtlesinmypants: If the lens break for whatever reason. Say you dropped it. You can't replace it.

  • Anyone know if you can mount these to motorcycle helmets in NSW?

    • +1

If you can't. You can always wear a chest mount for it.

    • Holiday bundle is no longer at that price now!

  • Does zip pay 10% work for online payments? I thought only instore

been waiting for this deal, thanks OP purchased one

  • I got the HERO8. the battery life seems to be very short in the 8 compared to my HERO6. Anyone else have the same issue?

    • The short battery life is common with the 8. Basically the software is pushing the hardware harder these days, so they have put in higher c rating batteries to compensate. This is also why you will notice that the 8 gets pretty darn hot under load. The battery will drain faster with hypersmooth turned on also. The hero 8 has hypersmooth 2.0, so it's even worse. Out of all the go pro's we use on FPV drones, the 8 seems to be the weakest. The non replaceable lens is another huge downside.

      • Yep, I really like the 8, but the lens is a big let down for popping it on a drone.

      • How much short is the battery life?

  • Got the Hero 7. Dont really want to ugprade :) Anyone had both and know any key differences or features?

    • +1

The stand out upgrades are the better audio and stabilisation. The 8 can do 4k in linear FOV, while 7 maxes out at 1440p for linear FOV. With the 7 the camera needs to be removed from the skeleton housing to access battery, USB charging and SD card, while the 8 has the mount inbuilt and easy access to the ports. 8 has warmer and more saturated colours. 8 has a better photo mode that doesn't have HDR ghosting like the 7 has.

The 7 has a removable lens, while the 8 requires more work to replace if it gets damaged. I think that's the only pro the 7 has over the 8.
