    Great looking monitor.
    No VESA mounting though.

    • Shame that.

    • Should be a crime…

Don’t forget to add the free hdmi cable and antivirus to your cart. Check the promotions.

  • Hi, currently using a very old AOC monitor. It makes a buzzing sound when it is on (only recently noticed, I thought it was the computer making sound, but I turned off monitor manually and the noise goes away computer is silent).

It has survived falling from desk height once, and still working. I think this buzzing sound is normal for old monitor. I would buy this AOC monitor deal if needed new monitor, AOC lasts long time in my experience.

Thanks OP. I've been dithering over a new monitor for over a week, and there's been heaps of bargains over that time. Finally bit the bullet. Didn't do the promos as I already have a box load of HDMI cables and run Chromebooks :p

  • This or the Dell 24" which is very popular on OZB???

  • I noticed lots of recent monitor deal all are 75hz. I read on reddit there seems to be issue with lines showing on many 75hz panels. Maybe this is how come they are so cheap.

    • i have this monitor but the 27 inch model. Don't seem to have any issues with the panel and is a great monitor for the price

      • Ok thanks for sharing.

        • Yes this is very true. Apparently, they use cheap 60hz panels and overclock them to 75hz leading to poorer image quality/lines and darker colours. I have this exact monitor and it shows lines even on 60hz. Disappears at 50hz. I wonder if those Dell monitors do the same thing.

Happens on a variety of monitors. https://linustechtips.com/topic/690124-faint-vertical-lines-…

Prefer it was just 60hz max (this is what current very old monitor runs at).

I have this exact monitor and it shows lines even on 60hz.

That’s a worry, so even at 60hz shows lines. Maybe if you run at 60hz from first use it will be fine…

I wonder if those Dell monitors do the same thing.

Apparently it affects many brands. Especially the budget models.
            Also it’s only IPS displays.

            • @thebadmachine: Was one of the many people who didn't turn on high refresh rate (if you call 75hz high) in their settings even though their monitors were capable of higher refresh rates. Windows defaults to 60hz for all monitors when you first plug them in.

              • @HairyChickens: Oh ok. That’s bad.

Current old AOC is about 2 inches thick when you look from the side, has weird sound when it’s on, but picture is quality is perfect. Probably 10+ years old and has fallen from desk height once.
When you turn the brightness above 40% it starts flickering like crazy (and noise goes away weirdly) but it’s fine at low brightness (currently set at 0-10%).

Will probably stick to VA / TN display in the future.

  • Any suggestion for 27 or 32 inch for office use?

Read recently you need 90+ PPI for computer monitors.
      So:
      1920x1080 (1080p) for 24 inch.
      2560x1440 (1440p / QHD) for 32 inch.

  • Can anyone recommend a good budget monitor with Ultra wide 21:9 display, which has split screen option to work simultaneously on two windows on single screen. Currently has dual screen setup but want to replace with one 21:9 display that has split screen option. Thanks.

    • Curious : When you say split screen. Do you mean one monitor cable from PC to monitor or more than one? Its just that with Windows 10, you can partition one display with one cable in to 2 or 4 sections on the screen .
You just highlight the specific window & use the "Windows key" with either the left , right , up or down arrow to place it where required.

      • Thanks for your response. What I want is to attach one monitor to the PC and then have two windows opened side by side for multitasking. I know in windows 10 we can do this, but on a normal 16:9 display, opening two windows side by side make both the windows very small. Thats why I was looking for a ultra wide 21:9 display monitor to have larger side by side windows.

  • Darn. That's a really crisp edge for a budget monitor
