Great price, shame about the game.

This is the one that finally killed my 7 year addiction to bf.

    • +2

Dont loose hope. BF4 still has some private servers. Its pretty good, but hackers spoils it. offline mode is good.

      • +4

I'm hoping BF6 will be modern day.

Last century wars have been done to death (pardon the pun).

        • +1

lol. That is true. Thats why I keep playing BF4. Hope they keep control on hackers else its no fun.

    • +3

Count me in. It killed my 13 years addition of BF.

      • +1

Well that answers that question. :)

Have played BF1942, BF2, BF Vietnam, BF 3…didn't like BF4 so wont bother with BF5 either. :)

        • +1

Same. Started on 1942 and bought every single title every since. Then I barely played BF1, and BFV just turned me off completely.

          • +3

@tomleonhart: What was the name of that awesome BF2 mod? Was it Desert Storm (maybe Desert Combat)? Pretty sure it was Desert something either way was a lot of fun.

            • @EightImmortals: BF 42 mod. Desert Combat. You're right it was a lot of fun :)

              • +1

@Cutsick: dont forget 2142 . that was also cool.
                walkers lol
                3 was kinda cool
downhill from 4, fast, steep hill to the dump

              • +1

                @Cutsick: Yeah DC!
                Played this mod heaps.
                Clan Recon [.r.]
                Lots of fun for sure!

          • @tomleonhart: Mirrored my experience exactly apart from I started as a Pizza Hut noob getting BF2 through their game bundle running at the time

    • +2

Venice Unleashed came out last week, it's an addon for Battlefield 3 that adds a full community created server hosting platform with a great mod development SDK.

  • +5

    $9 down from $60 damn.

    • I bought bfv on pc a few months after release for about that much.. i think it was a $49 JB HI FI special.. felt pretty pricey even back then but it was worth it at the time playing and meeting new people also excited and experiencing this game for the first time in all its new glory..

still no game like it which is both a good thing and a shame

always hoped another battlefield would come with destruction physics and all but it still has not arrived

anyways im gonna go fly some planes into people ciao auf Wiedersehen

16 year BF vet checking in.

Awesome, it will be pizza hut noob time all over again!. The game is a lot of fun and a no brainer for $9. Plenty of full PC player servers in ANZ. Community games are popular in AUS because high pingers and cheats are kicked.

No BF is for everyone though. I've seen vet BF42 players hate BF2 and BF2 players hate BF3 etc etc. This games biggest weakness was the lack of anti cheat and half the content of other BF's. The community games has fixed the cheating issue and there are a dozen good maps in the multiplayer rotation.

    • Awesome, it will be pizza hut noob time all over again!.

I was one of those pizza hut free-BF2 noobs.

I am completely unashamed about it.

The ozbargain is strong within me.

      • Excellent! Your service is both honored and revered. May the path of cheap BF glory be with you always.

  • When does this deal end

  • +1

Good deal, if I can find stock near me.

  • Crash bandicoot out of stock… 😢

  • +1

Here I am still on BF1…

  • Wait do you still have to go and physically collect the code/card or?

    • +1

I jumped in as well, but I think you have to. lol.
Might just call them and ask to read it over the phone haha

    • +1

I rang and they just gave it to me over the phone.
Activated as per Jamesjithin's link and it worked a charm, activated immediately. Didn't need the spaces or the dashes.

  • +1

jumped on it, thanks! waiting for this one to drop in price

  • +1

I’m stuck in a time vortex and still addicted to Bad Company 2.

    • The greatest game of all time, all hail the King. So insanely well balanced. I didnt know there were still active servers.

  • Will this game be on Xbox game pass when EA pass comes to PC Xbox game pass next year?

  • Is this redeemed through steam or origin?

    • +2

I tried to redeem it using origin client but didn't work, after a quick google search found out that it could be activated at activate.ea.com. This would automatically add the game to your origin library. Enjoy the game if you bought it.

      Cheers!

      • +3

also thank the guy at EB who did give me my code over phone as someone suggested getting it ….above.

      • Thank you for posting this, saved me the hassle of figuring it out!

Look at it this way they made huge strides in environment destruction technology.

Gameplay wise the game felt a bit flat but man the levels look beautiful and the destruction was amazing.

Hope they continue the trend because there is no feeling in any game like getting suppressed by tank rounds and watching your cover fall around you or flying a plane and watching it get torn to shreds.

I hope for the next one they make more of the world destructible aka realistic like the big bridge being kamikazeable with planes or being able to tactically run a massive tank into the structural rebar and bringing part of it down stopping an assault from the enemy.

Stuff like that is still possible improvements just waiting in future installments.

This is why I love battlefield because few games have large scale warfare for starters and on top of that very good destructibility.

Yeah battlefield might not be the most fun gunplay compared to other games on the market right now but their future potentiality is probably one of the highest.l

Remember planetside 2? Now imagine that with an even larger playerbase and bfv destructibility add in a few extra nations and man I can see that game coming back big time.

    • Big bridge destruction would be a 'levelution' event like BF4, having it be destroyed easily by planes or tanks would have it down in the first 5 min of the match when people just want to troll.

      • +1

True but more like a mini levelution more than whole level demolition.

Well I guess you could take it to the next level and have it rebuildable or something.

And believe me I bet there would be a lot of games where people won't even bother with it but it is a nice option.

Well honestly that would be awesome to just have that option make the game more dynamic and versatile than just simple capture points and build fortifications.

        • I agree it would be very nice if they expanded the building system introduced in BFV to allow destruction/rebuild of map elements like that.

  • Darn! No stock anywhere near me.

Anyone here willing to go to the store and get the code on my behalf? I'm willing to pay $15 a code for my two cousins

    • PM sent

    • +1

If you haven't paid yet you should be able to call them ask them to give you the code over the phone and you can just write it down in notepad or a piece of paper for both your cousins so you only pay $9 each or $18 total.

Just ring EB Games with stock and ask them if you can put in a click and collect and then ask them to read the code out loud for you.

  • It says it's a digital title yet no physical stock locally :(.

So do you just buy and then get the code to redeem or do you have to pick it up in store?

    • The code is inside a CD case but no disc, others have been able to order it for click & collect and then call the individual store and the employee will read it over the phone to you.

Use this page for a list of stores with stock and order from somewhere that has it in stock and call the store when the order is marked as ready for collection
