Brand new IPad2 for 50 if the following is done:

Refer your friends to join Super Koupon. Once a minimum of 5 or more friends purchase 1 deal each (Depending on the requirement of the current Super Krazy Deal and excludes any $0.00 deals), you will be upgraded to a Super Krazy Member and be entitled to purchase hot ticket items such as iPhone4's, Blackberries and more… for $50!
Click here to find out more information on the current Super Krazy Deal!

The other deal on offer today is a photobook voucher for $17. The way I see it is if you can get 5 people to buy those for you (you could pay them back and get the vouchers which make wonderful Christmas presents anyway!), then you can buy the $50 IPad2 for yourself. In total you will have spent $135 for 5 photobook vouchers and the IPad2.

Great deal if you can get it.

Expires at 6:30pm Brisbane time (it is a Melbourne site though - I assume they will ship anywhere though).

Mod: On the face of it, this appears to be a hack. So buy 5X$15 deals then get access to $50 iPad. So $125. The details seem to be unclear. Please keep discussion civil

hope you dont feel offended, but this seems slightly dodgy.

    • +9

I think the old saying “If something seems to good to be true, it probably is.” applies to this deal.

    • +3

      slightly is understatement

    • +2

I hope they feel offended. This is intentionally misleading blatant scam bullsh**.

[edit] correction: referring to the site, not OP (unless they're a rep, in which case yes them too :P)

    • +3

True, although the HP deal didn't require you to do anything other than hand over your cash at a Harvey Norman store or via the official HP website.

Unfortunately you have less than 7 hours to test this so they don't give you much lee way to validate if the deal will be honoured or not.

Good luck to those who take the plunge!

        • I don't think you understand what he said.

  • +3

    Seems dodgy.

  • +1

Nothing "too good to be true" in this world.

You can just try get 5 difference email addresses and purchase the phone books and tell us you have successfully get the iPad2 for $50.

  • +3

1 Super Krazy item available per deal period.

Only one person is able to get it, so if you're friends buy the deal, there's no guarantee that you will get the cheap ipad.

      • "Refer your friends to join Super Koupon.

So with 5 persons bought Super Krazy Deal, the current Super Krazy Deal is iPad 2 not the phonebook, etc.

So you have to get 5 friends bought 5 iPad2 for you to get a $50 iPad2.

        • -4

Read properly. Unless your friends are already SuperCrazymembers they cannot buy Ipads. And what is wrong with 6 Ipad2 for $300?

      • +3

        You've got to be kidding.

This is ostensibly a competition where the FIRST person to make their friends purchase stuff from the site 'wins' an iPad 2 for $50.

However, the company will end up having LOTS of people buying stuff on their website in an attempt to get this $50 iPad 2 as they did not read through the T&Cs.

        VERY, VERY dodgy.

        • Yep, competition not a deal.

        • It's a terrible scheme to get people to buy stuff from their website.

      • It is a deal for that person, however there is no guarantee that you would be that person at all. This whole title is so misleading, as you are implying that if you refer 5 friends you can purchase an ipad 2 for $50, when instead it should be if you refer 5 friends who purchase a $17 photobook then you have a CHANCE to purchase the ipad2…maybe I am just blind, but I do not see how this is any sort of 'bargain' at all.

        • You are right - if it was a competition it should exactly say that "a chance…".
It does not though, does it?

        • Which is why we're saying it's DODGY!!! They're trying to mislead customers into believing they have a good chance of getting an iPad 2 when in reality it is a competition where only 1 winner gets the iPad 2.

I don't neg often, and it's nothing against you OP, but 'deals' like this make me sick and is the reason the ACL was introduced.

      • Because you didn't read it properly.

      • +6

Don't be offended but seriously, you really think anyone will hand over Ipad2 for $50 bucks without some Seriously Krazy Katches?

      • +1

Consider it mentoring for becoming a great OzBargain deal poster.

Personally, I don't feel that this is a bargain suitable for publishing until it has been confirmed.

"Free freight forwarding for the HP Touchpad sale in the US today" sounds like a much more suitable deal to post.

      • +3

Dude that's the whole point of ozbargain! You can't say "don't neg or I won't post" that's just a silly thing. If you find something that you think is a bargain, post it, and let the community decide. You shouldn't concern yourself with getting neg, half the point of this site is to check the deals.

        • -1

The tone makes the music. And some people just work on assumptions. Two people in my offiece have used the site before and they got the SuperKrazy item for the price promised, so I do not see where the problem is.
Do you see the word "competition", "chance" or anything the like on there. They just limit the sale to 1 item per member. That's fair isn't it? I have seen people here buy 5 or 10 items of a deal thereby making it inaccessible to the other Ozbargainers. I think a limit is OK and fair.
And finally, unless it is confirmed that it is either bad or good, how come people just neg without having any such confirmation??

        • I didn't even say anything about the deal, I was just commenting on your comment.
All I'm saying is don't take it personally, and definitely don't stop posting deals!!!

      • +1

We are the interwebs, not your mummy. If members don't like a deal their more than welcome to neg, that's why the button is there.

Don't take it personally, it's the interwebs, no one is nice.

    • +1

lol, not a deal mate. Only 1 person can get this. It's a competition

  • +1

Anything 'Super Krazy' in my view = seriously dodgy!! Would be awesome to get a super krazy Ipad2 for $50 bucks, shame they will probably sell out (one in stock) and offer you HP touchpads as a replacement Super Krazy Deal ;)

    • -6

      You are funny.
If they sold $50 Touchpads now in the CBD in Sydney it would come to a standstill. Not everyone is an Apple fanboy. LOL

      • It would because they wouldn't ask you to refer 5 friends before you get the deal

      • Then post $50 touchpads in the CBD and watch all the + votes you get for it.
Until then, the harder you try to defend this 'deal', the more of a dick you look like. Not everyone is a scam fanboy.

  • IF this is the case? Surely this is a competition or insufficient quantity and shouldn't be here.

I came close to buying a handful of canvas print vouchers… Glad I didn't bother with that if it is likely that the ipad is gone already!

    • You should call them if you want to make sure.

The 1 item per deal period could also mean that you can only buy 1 IPad. Otherwise, what would stop you referring 5 friends and then buying 50 IPad2 for the price. This is the same as when Woolworths has a deal and says "two items percustomer". Only way to make sure is to call them. If it was a competition they could not put a "buy" button there and would have to make it clear that it is the first person to do this that gets the IPad2. Otherwise it would consitute fraudulent avertising that the police would be very interested in. Therefore, contact them and check.

      • My understanding after reading t&c is

You have to get 5 persons bought Super Krazy Deal but the current Super Krazy Deal is iPad 2 not the phonebook, etc.

        Am I right?

So like buy 5 get 1 free?

        • That would not be possible, would it now? You know what they mean. Besides, why are you talking about a phonebook?

  • damn..my friends offer me this deal
and ask me to buy some item
    glad didnt purchase

    must read t&c carefully later

    thanks ozbargainers

  • +1

The deal seems legit, I mean it is a marketing ploy to get more people to their site and signed up members buying things. The idea is that once they have bought from there successfully and had a good experience they would then hopefully want to come back and buy more deals. The more customers they have the more businesses wanting to sell these deals on super koupons.

The only problem here is if the quantity is limited to 1 or just a handful. Which, when you think about it, makes sense from the website's point of view. However, once you are a krazy koupon member or whatever they call it you could take advantage of a future super krazy deal. The photo album thing is actually great price, makes a good gift and has the bonus of being a cheap way to get yourself eligible for future deals.

  • I've revoked my neg after reading the fineprint, looks legit. Get 5 friends to purchase stuff (anything) and you will get an iPad for $50. Until someone proves it's a scam (which it doesn't look like) I don't see why everyone assumes it is one.

    • The competition seems legit. The dodgy bit is the way they market it (not explicitly saying it's a competition).

      • Why do you assume it is one then?

        • +4

I'm not assuming; it is a competition.

1.12. Super Koupon will not be liable for any damage or loss suffered as a result of entry into this competition or as a result of using the Super Krazy item.

    • -2

Thank you. I find it very hostile here which is why I might only post things here after I have tried them (but that normally means they are out of stock by then) and for all else I post to another site then where it is a bit less hostile. But I appreciate your comments and input.

      • +4

Dude stop making threats about not posting any more deals. You've been a member for 2 months, this place was fine before you joined and I'm sure it will survive without anymore of your deals.

Not saying, "leave", but honestly making threats is just embarrassing.

        • That's because I have been a member elsewhere for years.
Besides, it is not making a threat - just telling you that some people here are like vultures working on assumptions.
If you tried to give info to somebody and that person then was just negative or even sometimes insulting, what would you think?
And yes, I can check details, too - most of your comments abotu posted deals seems to have been negative in some way or another (Whopper deal - bad quality, not healthy; why business class for 8 hours…; why postal services for movies).
I thought the deal is to be judged, not its merit. If a Whopper costs $4.85 normally and you can get it for $2.00 it is a great deal, reagrdless of whether you like or eat Whoppers or not. I do not need to hear about people's lifestyle choices - there are other sites for that. :-)

        • +2

Yes, received alot of negative votes for my Whooper comments. But I didn't have a massive temper-trandrum about it like you are, did I? I put forwarded a retort, accepted not everyone has to agree with me and people are aloud a different opinion, and moved on with my life.

I suggest you learn to do the same, or go back to the other site your a member of.

        • Too bad mate. Two Chinese girls in my lab were just able to buy an IPad each for $50. They apparently prefer action rather than words and assumptions.:-)

    • As the economics don't make sense… Yes they get a few "customer" emails but they would get those by offering a cheap iPhone cover free like others do.

In the past such offers have worked as they have been linked to CPA deals with high payouts, normally involving lots of small print and 101 upsells. In this case if it were true everybody would be getting an iPad2 for a couple hundred $ total …

If it is true then the company is very dumb to spend so much to get so little.

      • Anyway says sold out to me… So they got rid of whatever they had…

At least it does say sold out… That's a decent thing to do.

update: now it's not showing that… Mmmm

Update2: on the mobile store it says sold out… On regular store it does not.

        • They must have sold the one unit, lol

  • +1

So buy 5X$15 deals (using multiple fake email accounts), then get access to $50 iPad. So $125. Hmmm?

  • Why would you even bother posting this? scam.

    • You tried it? Unless you have, how do you know? Two people in my lab did and got the IPad2.

      • +2

You sound like a bad rep

  • -1

    Scam

  • +2

Enough with the personal attacks. Stick to discussing the deal. If you can't be civil, then don't comment on here.

  • Straight from the horses mouth (I emailed them):

You are indeed correct that in order to become eligible to purchase our Super Krazy deals you must refer five people who go on to purchase one of our regular deals. HOWEVER, the Super Krazy deal for this deal period has been sold out! We do run a Super Krazy promotion once a month thogh so get referring and keep your eye out for the next one.

    Also on the T&C page:

1.10. Once you have signed up 5 or more (Depending on the requirement advertised alongside the current Super Krazy Deal) new eligible individuals, and they have all bought at least 1 (one) deal each (excluding any $0.00 deals) from www.superkoupon.com.au, you will be entitled to purchase a Super Krazy Deal at a hugely discounted price as and when the deal is available on sale. So, the thing now is to refer and purchase 5 of the absolute cheapest things you can buy over the next month, then be ready to purchase the Super Krazy Deal the second it goes live.

    • OK, well as it is a change of getting the Super Krazy Deal, it's a competition, moved to competition forum.

  • +2

Lol @ OP defending that it was NOT a competition for so long.

    • -4

Sorry mate, this is is not a competition as I understand it. Lottery is a competition. Buying an item until stock runs out (although very limited stock I admit) is not a competition - only feels like that to people who tried and missed out (such as ordering a TouchPad from HP this morning). If somethink is sold on a first come, first serve basis until sold out that is fair dinkum.
2 people here at uni got it, so I guess thumbs up for them.

      • +2

Well you are competing to purchase something that has a very limited amount. Isn't this just like buying a raffle ticket, you purchase something and have a very small chance of attaining it…Just like a competition…

  • Hi dergago,

You are indeed correct that in order to become eligible to purchase our Super Krazy deals you must refer five people who go on to purchase one of our regular deals. HOWEVER, the Super Krazy deal for this deal period has been sold out! We do run a Super Krazy promotion once a month thogh so get referring and keep your eye out for the next one.

  • Pyramid scheme. This sounds incredibly dodgy, and is most certainly not something I'd want to refer any reputable acquaintances to (at least if I wanted to maintain my own repute). It's also limited stock, so you have to beat out everyone else who's presumably trying to sign up their worst enemies.

In some ways I'm disappointed I can't vote it down. I'll just have to put up with expressing my extreme displeasure at time-wasters who post this kind of rubbish.

  • How did I miss this thread? An iPad for $125? I'll take ten, LOL.

  • Trust the old saying if it's too good to be true it must be a scam!
