Warning: this is an unfinished game from 2013 with a poor metacritic score, but is still being developed after it was re-acquired by the devs from the Telltale games selloff. Steam reviews seem positive.

With all due respect, the last sentence in your comment I would call grossly misleading.
      Here is why:

      https://store.steampowered.com/app/251570/7_Days_to_Die/

Rated Very positive (85% positive) with 104,458 reviews made.

I would say that this shows that the game is definitely playable and liked by a lot of people.

      Statistics from Steam today:

25,665 (current) 32,502 (peak) 7 Days to Die (27th on the list of 100 top played games on Steam)

      https://store.steampowered.com/stats/

      • Read it again and explain to me how in any way my last sentence is grossly misleading.

        • "Seem positive"

It is highly popular and very highly rated game.

So, the warning seems to be misplaced.

On a side note, it shows how reliable Metacritic is.

          • @Lysander: You and I have a very different understanding of "grossly misleading", especially in this day and age.

Look, you're obviously very attached to this game and that's great, but the warning is completely warranted; if I was considering buying a game that had been in "Alpha" for 8 years, I would want to know. I think that suggests a level of dishonesty on behalf of the devs that needs to be called out. The game is the grandfather of the unfortunate trend of unfinished games being sold and released well before they're ready, yet get a free pass because they slap "Alpha" on the tin. Console players have also been shafted constantly by the devs.

            • @Anders: I am not attached to this game at all but I am just trying to be fair.
Whether it says Alpha or not, if the game is playable and so highly reviewed by so many people (and still being played by so many people daily), then I think it is safe to buy the game as the quality is obviously high enough for that to happen.
But anyway, have a lovely night and I wish you a Happy New Year.

@Lysander: I think it's worth knowing that the developers are disingenuous and I don't like supporting bad industry practices.
I also think a game released in 2013 should be cheaper than this in 2020, on sale or not.
Happy New Year to you too.

It is a great game, even better with friends. Some great mods out there also.

I must admit I beat this game, as it took me far less than 7 days to die..

  • Pretty fun game, although not sure I'd have enjoyed it without friends to play with.

  • While I love this game and every 6 months or so my group of gaming buddies all drift back, I wouldn't recommend this game to people, it's just way too buggy and poorly optimized. Latest build has helped somewhat, but def not a polished experience and If I didn't have a group of people I doubt I would ever have bothered.
