Cyberpower 8 Port Surge Protector $29 + Delivery/Pickup @ Centre Com

1010

This is not currently the lowest price ever, but hard to resist if you can pick up and not pay for delivery. I already have one and it's shockingly good for an 8 port surge protector with 2 usb ports.

EDIT: Two great alternatives spotted by ItsAlwaysOutofStock and LuffyTuffyFluffy:
PCByte (Sydney siders) - $25 each pick up (OOS)

Shopping express - $39 for 2 + shipping

Are you referring to the following?

        That's completely rubbish!

        • No, The point it decent ones cost a lot more than the cheap crap, so the ones posted are a good deal.

The Bekin 8 surge protector with 900J for $46 would be a better choice than cheap crap listed above

  • Does this work for washer? Had 2 out in the past few months because of power surge.

  • I posted this assuming it was the best deal, but now have ordered and received my 4 delivered from Shopping Express (not ebay) for ~$95 inc shipping. Thanks all for your contributions - we now have some outlets to shove our christmas electronic gifts onto.

    • Unfortunately it seems the buy 1 get 1 free has finished now direct through shopping express.

I just bought two late last night and the offer was still on. Hope I’ll receive two, if not, I’ll get PayPal to deal with it as my invoice clearly states two units.

I received 4 after paying for 2 as per the receipt - so hope it works out the same for you!

        • Two turned up today (direct through shopping express)
Still surprised at the very high joule rating.
Do you think these are better quality than the Belkins? Spec wise should be, the plastic is a softer cheaper finish but no doubt better I assume.

@G-rig: Still waiting for mine but I should eventually receive the order.
Just return your Belkins if you are still able to. Belkin products usually sell for higher markups from chargers to cables and screen protectors but doesn‘t mean they are better. This is probably due to fact that they‘ve made their reputation from selling Apple certified products (to match the price of Apple products).

These Cyberpower surge protectors should be good enough for home use. I already have a Cyberpower UPS but it only has 405 joules protection so that is why I need one of these surge protectors.

            • @FrugalNotStingy: Cheers hopefully yours turn up soon, should do. Still can't believe the high joule protection, may as well return the Belkins (or at least one and keep one of these in a box, or just return both). Belkins were a good price but 6 outlets no USBs and lower surge. 6 in a row could be handy for some applications but hardly a small board anyway. Agree that brand and all accessories etc aren't cheap, but would be better protection than the cheapies.

  • anyone knows one of these that has all the outlets in the same row?

  • I have 3 of these, and I have had these trip my switch a few times (maybe 4-5 times in the past year) whenever I switch the powerboard off. Is this common or something to worry about? I've tried it on 2 different boards and happened to both.

    • Not happened to me before… is it something to do with too much of a load on a single outlet?

      • Only have my PC and its peripherals connected to it, surely thats not a lot of load. Also, it only trips when I turn off the powerboard (via the switch), and at those times my PC is definitely off so negligible/nil power draw. Never had a problem while running my PC.
