Norwegian farmed salmon used to be one of the most toxic food available in the markets, due to the toxins/pollutants present in the fish food pellets used in feeding/raising those farmed fish. Hopefully those unethical farming practices have changed.

    • Looks as though there have been some changes here

      • Still farmed fish, I much prefer wild caught.

Wild caught smoked salmon is about $100/kg.

  • Faros bros seafood in Marrickville are selling Norwegian smoked salmon for $28.99

  • Can this be frozen?

    • It is frozen, you can use it as required form your freezer. It keeps frozen for 12 months.

    • It’s frozen. That’s why its cheap. It’s past date. RRP of 50$ is a crock of shite.

      • What do you mean it's out of date? Label seems to indicate December 2021… 🤷‍♂️

  • Are you shipping only within VIC?

    • Hi Becku,

At this stage yes, sorry for any inconvinience.

    Tasmanian salmon or nothing.

Depending on who you listen to, TAS salmon farms are not much better than Norwegian. Just search this topic.

Lots of horror stories from Tassie.

Any seafood off the sea borders of Australia will be having significant amount of micro plastics, so better stick to Tasmania or other Aussie sea food. This is a good deal otherwise for those for whom this doesn’t matter.

What protects us from plastic that everywhere but us has?

      • +1

Nothing can protect until its bad effects become apparent and proper precautions/medications are developed. Till then only thing doable is to limit the ‘consumption’ as much as possible.
