These can be found for around $100 any day on Aliexpress, less with coupons ie https://www.aliexpress.com/item/1005001557782197.html?spm=a2…

What value are you adding here?

    • In the description is says it's a Powkiddy.

Powkiddy RG351P Portable 3.5 inch IPS 2500 Video Games Player Open Source System Vibration Motor Handheld Retro PSP Game Console
      Specification:

So is that different from Anbernic?

      • Powkiddy is a different brand, I'm going to assume a typo since it says Anbernic about 700 times in the photos and text

        • You obviously haven't dealt with AliExpress or any of the China based ecommerce sites.

Photos don't mean jack when it comes to their listings.

Descriptions don't either most of the time. Been burnt a couple of times by fake B28 descriptions on phones.

Best to ask them directly so can dispute later if it is different.

@jlogic: I have, and Aliexpress takes the buyers side in my experience (though it's a big time waster). That one wasn't even the cheapest, just a quick result.

            • @Merlict: True… but it is a time waster.

I have been looking for something like this but want to get one that just works without any BS but need to save the dollaroos as well if possible.

              • @jlogic: reach out to me on facebook if you like and happy to have a chat. Electro Arcade

                • @electroarc: Sorry don't have Facebook so can't reach out there. Any other medium?

Retroid pocket 2 is generally given the consensus of being better, definitely faster and easier to run stuff on.

It’s also way cheaper then this price

Tough audience. do you guys buy your milk and groceries from overseas as well ;-)
If you're happy to roll the dice, with 30+ days and hope that it arrives as described? then by all means buy it from an unknown overseas seller.
I hear horror stories all the time on facebook groups I'm on.
I know what they cost to buy and import, so if the cheapest on eBay is $153 from China, you have to ask how and why it's $100 on some overseas platforms? Who is building these and at what quality?

While each console has its pros and cons, I went anbernic as the controls are by far superior and Nintendo switch quality. Here is a review with retroid pocket 2 and one of the reasons I went anbernic and don't regret it.

I've explored ArkOS and have an Elec351 OS setup underway. This console is pretty amazing and I'm talking from a consumer point as I won't sell what I won't play..

    Happy gaming ;-)

    • *so if the cheapest on eBay is $153 from China, you have to ask how and why it's $100 on some overseas platforms?
..Because on Ebay they're being sold by resellers like you who take a profit, plus ebay fees+ posting it again?

*Who is building these and at what quality?
Chinese sweatshop kids, and 'mostly adequate quality'. The Anbernic I tried was pretty rough but this one does get decent reviews.

i guess we're all entitled to our opinions hey…
Everyone is a seller and manufacturer in China so copies and varied quality, so it's luck of the draw.
I think Powkiddy is a great example of what are you actually buying?
Another is I don't like any of the other travel cases as look cheap, which shows quality varies across the board.
I'm sure you can buy it cheaper overseas but should it go wrong is it really worth the hassle? and having your small package banged around for 30-60 days via regular international post? And even though platforms favour the buyer, there's no warranty after 30 days. So no thanks.
        Anway - just my thoughts.
        Cheers.
