Two whole Giga-ma-bytes of graphics POWER…man i need that.

You should put up what card it is.

Frustrates me a bit when graphics chips are just advertised by their RAM, which is useless for determining its power. FWIW it's a 6650 which is decent(but not great) for this price, although it's not really going to be very good for gaming at 1600x900 (native res).

  • Oh massive screen!

Give it another 6 months and you'll be able to make your money back on selling the hard drive alone…

I've got one of these (AS7750G-2638G75B) so these are the specs.

    Acer Aspire 7750G (Windows Ratings)

    Processor - 7.4
    Ram - 7.6
    Graphics - 4.5
    Gaming Graphics - 4.7
    Primary Hard Disk - 5.9

    Specs -

    Intel Core i7 2630-QM CPU @2.00GHz
Toshiba 750gb HDD (Sorry not sure on the rpm but I assume 5400)
    AMD Radeon HD 6650M
    Pioneer BD-Rom BDCT03RS
1.3 Megapixel Webcam (Very average, if you want to skype buy a decent one)

As a whole, great laptop very light and I'm very impressed with how cool it keeps even under a heavy load for long periods of time the entire laptop remains cool to the touch. For a speed comparison I can open iTunes in ~1-2 seconds and Photoshop CS5 in ~12 seconds.

Cons would be I had a little bit of trouble with the Blu-Ray drive at first (no problem at all for anyone who can use Anydvd HD) and as it's quite large its not the most portable of laptops.

    I hope this helps.

  • To put things in perspective (from a machine paid $3000 6 month ago)

    Component Details Subscore
    Processor Intel(R) Core(TM) i7-2720QM CPU @ 2.20GHz 7.5
    Memory (RAM) 16.0 GB 7.6
Graphics NVIDIA GeForce GTX 485M 7.5
Gaming graphics 4095 MB Total available graphics memory 7.5
Primary hard disk SSD Sata III (112GB Total) 7.7

  • pretty nice specs for the price.
If I buy this laptop, it will replace my desktop.
The CPU has plenty of grunt.
Plenty of RAM to go around.
the Graphic card can run many games on it (moderate, not hard core)

Rep, is there Hard Disk upgrade option to SSD?

    • When I bought mine (through these guys) they were willing to change the HDD but I had to talk to them over the phone, It can only hold 1 HDD unfortunately unless your willing to remove the Blu-Ray/DVD Drive and buy a adapter.

  • Ok, I bit. Would have been nice to get a bit of an OzBargain discount (rep?).

  • a great deal for nice spec laptops.
I read that they are premium Acer cellers, they can provide 3year warranty with reasonable cost.
    it's nice as well.

I would grab it if I am after laptop. Unfortunatelly, I have a good working desktop and also acer one which is working fine so cannot justify why I need it.

    keep up with good work!

  • Just note that these are being sold on ebay in various configs supposedly with a $99 cash back, but the cash back finished end of november.

  • Awesome deal !!!

Side question: any idea when the next gen of CPU will come out from intel and amd ? Might get this one for me self

  • Got mine, the $899 one has 2 x 750Gb hard drives (not 1).
