    Quiet Cut Chainsaw

Now you can hear the screams. 😱

    • Damn it, I came to make a similar joke and you beat me to it. Take my upvote.

Been this price for about 4 weeks now.

Bunnings is discontinuing the 82v range and it will become a specialist only item which is disappointing.

They will be stocking the 18v range.

They also have the line trimmer and hedge trimmers discounted (kits only)

Bunnings don't sell the 'console only' for skins I'd highly recommend jcmowers.com he's by far the cheapest for skin only.

I go to Bunnings a lot and I own the Victa 82v range, it's amazing but expensive. Unfortunately I see about 10 Ryobi walk out the door to about 1 Victa 82v. In some cases the Victa 82v lawn mowers are cheaper than the Ryobi but I guess consumers are uneducated, if you ask for advice and it's like they're paid to recommend Ryobi. I see heaps and heaps of returns with Ryobi but they must sell pallets worth a day.

    • Do you think they will discount them further? My local store has 7 hedge trimmers that have been sitting on the shelf for weeks now. I love our 82V range products and hoping to add the hedge trimmer.

Bunnings are discontinuing them because Briggs and Stratton who make the motors have gone bankrupt.

      • Does that mean the entire Victa 82v range will disappear from the market entirely ?

I didn't know that. I have most of the 82v range and it's fantastic. It's a shame that they will be no more! I'm glad I purchased from Bunnings… At least I have some sort of warranty from them.

Victa's battery products are made by Greenworks. Greenworks Australia has 60V & 82V range coming soon on their website.

          • @[Deactivated]: Thanks for that. I just had a look at the Greenway 82v batteries and they do look very similar. Hopefully the tools and batteries can be interchanged.

@masuta: You'll probably find that the inners are the same and just need to use a grinding tool to create the channels for other manufacturers to fit the charger and battery mount.

It was the same with other 80v/82v brands to the market and if you search you'll find where people have done testing on voltages, etc for them to give you greater confidence.

I grabbed a Kobalt when Masters went under for my Victa 80v chainsaw and a little grinding had me a winner.

http://www.myswag.org/index.php?topic=45952.25 makes me think it is indeed as simple as that.

      • Thank you for this info! I had no idea.

If you buy into this ecosystem maybe it's worthwhile stocking up on spares.

      • Yeah, I'm hoping they discount it further given this!

  • I've got the older 80v range chainsaw. Great products really, and a disappointment they are disappearing.

Their limited range really was a killer through for the home market.

  • Blower skin only $189
    Chainsaw skin only $279
    Hedge trimmer skin only $239
    Hedge trimmer 2ah kit $379
    Pole saw skin only $239

  • Any info if the batteries are discounted too and charges?

    • Yep I think so! It's hard to get the larger battery now. I managed to get one from my local Bunnings, the last one they had. But they're becoming scarce. I saw one on eBay for stupid money!

      • How much was it?

  • Here's a 4.0Ah one: https://www.ebay.com.au/itm/Victa-82V-Battery-Genuine-Briggs…

I got one from Bunnings a few weeks ago for $290 I think.

Scored one at Mill Park (Vic.) just now and asked about spare batteries seeing the chainsaw was on clearance and so they gave me 30% off the 4.0Ah which brought it down to $200 if I bought the chainsaw and battery together. For the amount of use I'll need it for, hopefully it was worth it….I still copped a spray from the better half, but hey…..

Yep same pricing down here in SA.
I saw them last week and did a little research on them, I can only find positive reviews.
What to do…… pull trigger now or risk stock availability waiting for next discount?

  • https://www.ebay.com.au/itm/Briggs-Stratton-82V-2-0Ah-Lithiu… - if anyone needs a cheap battery, he's got 3 left right now 👍

  • Checking several Bunnings stores last week I found 1 store (from 5) has discounted further:
    Hedger skin: $100
    Hedger kit: $250
    Pole saw skin: $125

    • In SA ?

  • Toowoomba North has some 82V Victa blowers on clearance. Today they're marking down an extra 50%, just need to speak to a staff member standing nearby.
I bought the last 2Ah Hedge Trimmer for $150 and Backpack leaf blower for $45.

  • Yes in SA, this is what I saw yesterday (Sat) doing the rounds of southern Adelaide Bunnings;
Edwardstown : pricing as per original post,
Marion: some with further discount, some not discounted.
Old Reynella: pricing as per original post
Noarlunga: clearance pricing: backpack blower $50 & I bought last handheld blower $50
    Seaford: not stocked.
I took photos but don’t seem to be able to post them.

  • Bunnings North Lakes have the hedge trimmer skin for $40 and kit with battery for $99 :)
