This game is awesome fun, immediately puts a smile on my face just making it to the main menu ^_^

I’ll get the demo just for this

I don't have the game. Is this the game or the DLC to the game? Got it for free anyway.

    • +3

Added these to description. Thank you.

  • Thanks! Btw, anyone know how the calibration works? What does music position and notes position mean? My air hits don't seem to register right.

    • I am not sure on calibration exactly, I did mine as it recommended and it seems ok. I did have an issue with missed and delayed hits at first though, it was caused by my dock being tucked a bit too far behind the tv, bringing it forward a bit everything seems in order now. Having a lot of fun with the game, I used to be really into beatmania but my controllers are a bit stiff these days (and I'm about 10 years out of practice lol).

    • unfortunately thats a joy con issue. and there are two types of hits - vertical and side hit (red and blue IIRC)

    • Calibration is more for the response time I think, when you see the note hit the strike zone on the tv/switch screen vs. when it actually happens.

The joycon/motion controls are pretty bad here IMO, I just went and bought the actual drum controller

    • buy the cheapo drum. It makes it 10x more fun.

  • It is free download But need purchase the game to play

    • Of course, they are DLC packs.

Great game, nothing beats the physical game but this is the next best thing.

a home version of the arcade drum would make this game worth it

      • +3

After seeing the home version when my daughter was playing it, I looked at the arcade version and saw some YT clips, immediately looked at the price of a second hand arcade machine. It took a bit of willpower to not impulse buy that.

        • How much are the machines going for?

      • Not quite the same as the arcade but they do have a home controller for this but not sold in Australia. I bought this one for my wife for Christmas which was a hit (pardon the pun).

        • Yea the official drum is tiny and apparently needs to be weighed down. For the price it's just too much

You can also get some free DLC here from Bandai by making a free account. https://club.bandainamcoent.eu/eu/search/taiko

Ugh. Missed out in the recent sale for the base game.

  • Thanks for sharing op! None of the songs I've heard before but free songs are free!

  • Thanks!

The title should say its DLC.

It currently looks like a full game.

Fixed. Just know there are limited characters in title and it is impossible to please everyone. Pack typically means DLC.

  • Whats everyones favourite paid DLC?

    • The Undertale tracks are great.

        Thanks, will grab these

I am really enjoying the DEEMO pack

      https://ec.nintendo.com/AU/en/aocs/70050000023283

Some of them are almost a bit, I don't know, techno? Nice to play something a bit more outside the pop/anime. Quite tough on extreme difficulty though, still having trouble even clearing some as I think two or three are 10 star for extreme mode.

VICTORIA has fast become one of my favourite songs in the game, doesn't look like you can find it individually though, only part of challenge pack 4:

      https://ec.nintendo.com/AU/en/aocs/70050000011671

Also quite a hard song but so much fun to play. I can only clear the extreme mode by a hair at the moment, but managed to full combo it on hard mode. This is the song below, from the PS4 version but the notes are the same.

      • Thanks, will give these a go. So far only got the Disney pack for the kids and 1 other I think. I'm nowhere near your level (drum controller or buttons?)

        • I use the buttons, feels most at home as I started playing on the PSP versions. I do have a cheapie 3rd party drum though but admittedly play more on buttons through convenience.

  • Dsethako? Cietayoyo? What?

  • Any cheap drums for this game? I really want to get this purely for the katamari song, but no point playing a taiko without the drum.

    • +1

There are lots of cheap 3rd party ones out there but unless you're planning to sell the game after mastering the katamari song (which won't take that long; it's not one of the overly difficult songs even in hard mode), the official Hori drum would be a better investment. Even the Hori isn't a superb drum so I can't imagine how frustrating the cheap ones would be.

      • Thanks, I'll consider just getting the hori drum.

  • Stumbled across another free DLC, not sure if permanent or not.

    Song: Hold Me Tight

    https://ec.nintendo.com/AU/en/aocs/70050000029506

    • I don't think it was permanent, shows as $1.45 for me.

      • Damn, I did think it was a bit odd but I think it's a new song so thought it might be a free promo on release thing.

Maybe it was a timed one and just ended shortly after I posted :-( I double checked my Nintendo Account and it definitely went through at $0 value though, and no gold coins used.

Sorry to get your hopes up.
