No brainer. Since we are just saying $hit.P.S. Sony's sound nowhere near Airpods Max. A simple youtube search will have plenty of reviews with binaural audio which you can sort of experience yourself and even in that there is a stark difference in quality and noise cancelling both.

There is no universe where the XM4's sound better than the AirPods Max.
I am looking at the new Yamaha YH-E700A and hoping it out perform both Sony and Apple.
I have the yamahas, sound wise I love them (bass heavy), noise cancelling is not as good as the sonys or the bose. Comfort again is not as good as the Sony's. But I only tried the Sony's in store at JB HIFI.
There is an ebay seller selling the yamahas for much cheaper than JB HIFI.
@Navii thank you! Is the ANC way worse or just a bit worse than Sony? I don’t need top ANC as I am using daily when I walk around back streets.
@goraygo: I feel on the Yamaha's it's a noticeable step down. This was from my quick A/B comparison test at JBHIFI. The Yamaha take out the low end rumble well, but the higher frequencies are much more reduced in the Sonys. Sony's seem to reduce all frequencies well.
When I first got the Yamaha's and tried the NC I had no point of reference but I felt they could reduce the noise more. Then I tried the Sonys and as soon as I put them on the surroundings were quieter.
The Yamahas are also quite bigger and will make your head look chunky.
I wish they did noise cancelling better. Even though it's not a top priority for me, it would be nice to know that they are good at NC.
That said, I love the sound of the Yamaha's. And I like their look more… Just not on my head lol.

Is the mic any good? Looking for a bluetooth set for WFH, that can handle both MS Teams calls and audio playback. Sold my BOSE as had issues with the mic on a PC.
