But maybe not 36 hours of playback???
The linked Officeworks description says:
"They have a playback time up to 10 hours"
The manual says 36 hours
Maybe an error on Officeworks description
If 36 hrs playback then its a great deal indeed!
It's $17…
Just add Sony or Bose sticker
Look like Sony
Probably less likely to break at the hinge like the XM4, XM5 and ULT wear
So many us have become such brand slaves, instagram is big driver :/
Just got the last pink one from OW Auburn.. great gift for the MIL.. don’t really care about the quality.. haha
Mothers Day sorted ✅
Lousy son in law .. haha
Do you know if it has an AUX port?
Pictures dont seem to show it, specs says it includes an aux cable, but the instruction booklet doesnt mention it…
great gift for the MIL..
Sometimes it's a good idea not to use the acronyms..
So Freudian.
No aux cable or port.
Probably will hurt your ears if there is no padding inside the cups.
If you're looking at the $17 end of the market, you could probably retrofit (glue) some $12 replacement Bose pads (with internal padding) and find yourself pretty well places for a <$30 spend. Not that I've seen the padding on these to know.
thanks bought one
They have a playback time up to 10 hours
That's very poor battery life. Anker's similar headphones battery last 40-60 hours. Soundpeats headphones advertised to last 123 hours.
Up to 36 hours in the manual (may be with ANC off), 10 hours may be with ANC on. Feel free to share any deals for Anker or Soundpeats over ear headphones under $20.
Mate. Your posted deal is GOLD. Good find.
Thanks
Thanks for the clarification.
Now, if someone can confirm if it has aux port, I might get a dozen for my school.
No aux port. Confirmed by comments below.
I can vouch for the Soundpeats Space battery life. It's just silly. I've accidentally left it on over the weekend and still had plenty of battery on Monday.
Most shouldn't use much power if left on with nothing playing.
And these are going to rival Sony?
Beggars/choosers, etc.
Thank u
Has anyone actually used these and can vouch for them? A 8 dollar discount on 25 dollar cans doesn't mean a deal if they a sh!t
I was wondering about the same.
When it's only $17, people can try it and return if it's shit or use the 3 year warranty if it goes bad two years later.
Last time I tried to take something back to officeworks I was accused of breaking it, and then had a row with the manager and some douche with a goatee. Had to call head office to sort it out. Time wasted aside, it was painful
Also want to know it this can be connected to my phone and the computer at the same time and switch between them?

That just depends on your luck with the specific store.

No details about that in the manual. Unlikely.
Thanks for bringing politics into a post about cheap headphones. Very helpful.
I hope you're being paid
@Ulysses31: Nah, I might actually quit my job altogether as Albo says everything is going to be for free soon
lol
Weird how the render looks different from how they look in the box. makes the earcups look nice and smooth, like a pair of Sonys then I look at the photo of them in the box and not so nice.
Still, curious to "hear' (dohoho..) what people's thoughts on the quality are once some here have them to test. Plenty of stock around. Can't imagine they're very good.
These headphones are giving me temu vibes
Must be better than the $29.99 Kogan ones surely
(It gets loud but goah the sound quality is like sooo flat?)
$17 for an ANC headphone, even the sound is shitty every tradie should have one to block noise from work site.
Shouldn't you be alert to your surroundings on a construction site…
imagine if all tradies are shuffling and raving while working
From the google review sound is shit. What you expect I guess. But if like the look of shitty cans then …
Looks like touch controls too?
Yeah they are touch controls - which I find bad compared to physical buttons.
Especially since power/ANC button is on same side as Vol Up/Down
I want to use Power button but keep hitting volume instead.
Also they sometimes get phantom touches and start turning themselves up to Max volume :(
Just like XM5s then ;)
This or Apple AirPods Max?
AirPods Max for $17
AirPods Max for $170
Just buy an edifier from Amazon. Infinite battery and decent sound
I bought an edifier Bluetooth speaker when the beats pill came out (at like £200). My edifier was £25. That was like 2013 and I still bring my edifier on every trip and holiday, what amazing build quality. Edifier for the win!
Feel free to share any deals for Edifier over ear headphones under $20.
Sorry dumb question maybe. Is there a way to connect these to use with airline entertainment. it does not seem to have a cable.
thanks
@isthisreallife22: Have that - not low latency, so sound will lag when watching video. Should be suggestions there for better options.
we need to stop buying disposal garbage tech items. It such a wasteful activity to buy throwaway junk.
buy once get better quality that lasts a few years, not days or weeks
agree but ozb mentality is like this.. buy first think later and for sure, some is crying later regretting.
only old members like us will finally understand that…..
well, good to know that this product is made from wastes eh?
This has a 3 year warranty. It's going to last more than a few weeks 🤣
95% of ozbargainers are cheap skates
That only makes sense if you are middle class and above. If you are born in a single parent family on centrelink, it's not a question of buying better quality, but whether you can afford to get one at all. In which case a $17 headphone would make sense, and they may treasure it more than the rich kid who just got an XM5 as a present, boohoo.
You're not my real Dad!
Some people have kids who don't need quality, and would likely turn a quality product into disposable junk in the same time period these would last
Target and Kmart was selling something similar at $9 few weeks ago.
minus the warranty I guess?
Damn no aux port.
I would have got this for my daughter for her ot use during her keyboard lessons
have no use case and have accumulated several over ears over the years (pun intended)
to buy or not to buy? that is the million dollar question
"Sony WH-1000XM5 at home" aura
Honestly, just got these home and sound quality is decent. Bit heavy on the bass, ANC doesnt seem to make any difference so might as well leave it off for extra battery life.
Otherwise headphone is comfortable and bluetooth range is decent. Sound quality on high frequency is a bit lacking but mid range is not bad. Have definitely heard worse on more expensive headphones.
Only 25 dB. Can't expect much for this price + local stock.
This is 5x cheaper than AirPod ANC feather ($80)
so you get 2 of this , not 1 . add replacement pads from amazon from a nicer brand or gel cooled or whatever .
you get 2 for when dies, you send for warranty and use the other one and repeat.
if you can afford more, you don't need this. if you drop stuff all the time, probably this will not hold . but this looks so damn good for the price
I bought them at $19.00 the other day, I just needed a cheap pair for gym, sound quality is ok, very bass heavy but I adjusted that with an equliser. ANC works, not fantastic but you can tell the difference with on and off.
Touch controls are a bit fidly but I think i will get used to them, and can just control it via my phone.
earpads are super comfy and stays on my head well.
For the price I paid and how they get trashed at gym I will give them a go, usually my expensive over the ear headphones that are sweat resistant all fail in one method or another anyway.
Picked up a pair today, can confirm the above.
did it have an AUX port?
nope
100% agree.
Picked up a pair this morning. Can't comment on battery life yet, but I've been using them while working for most of this morning and have gotta say that at this price point, these are fantastic.
Any replacement pad suggestion?
Found these in the clearance bin of officeworks a few months back for $5. They do what they say they do but the buttons are touch sensitive rather than tactile. They're a pain to use. Probs still a bargain considering but you get what you pay for. I've got expensive Bose ones and they've given me joy for years.
At $5, yes it's a bargain
No free delivery to rural SA, even with OnePass :-(
Showcasing Sonys Mark Up in Plane Sight
Is this incorrect info?
Included Accessories
30 cm USB Type-C charging cable, 120 cm 3.5mm AUX cable
No aux cable in mine, just a short usb c cable.
I highly doubt these are actual USB C.
Seems like Micro USB in the shape of USB C.
Is that a thing ???
Definitely USB-C connector - and it's only using 2 wires/pins to charge.
120 cm 3.5mm AUX cable, not mentioned in package or manual "package contents" from where you got that? and confirm there is no place to put AUX cable.
Officeworks
Charged mine and right ear booms with ANC on, guess they are going back. PIA!
Booms?
Mine have gone faulty after one days use. The volume up button is stuck on and goes to max volume, then beeping constantly and saying "max volume" over and over. Grrr. I'll have to return them.
Not bad for 3 years of manufacture warranty 😀
