Optimal Video Card for 4K on CSGO

Hi all,

Please redirect this to another thread if there's already something quite comprehensive.

I just got an Alienware 38" AW3821DW and my 1060ti is less than ideal for CSGO. It supports the res ok, but it's a bit choppy because a lot of video enhancements need to be turned off. Are there any recommendations on what will be able to give me pretty seamless gameplay on this monitor? Happy to spend around the $500-700 mark if that works.

    what are the rest of your system specs?

    You may also want to check the gsync settings

    With your budget, definitely a 3060Ti over a 1080Ti for DLSS + Ray Tracing.

    Would probably not get a 3070 with the 3060Ti out there. It's kind of like when the GTX970 and 980 came out especially with the pricing out there for the 3070 and its availability.

      Yeah I was thinking a 3060Ti from my own research. MSI nVidia Geforce RTX 3060 Ti TWIN FAN OC 8GB GDDR6?

        Not from personal experience - but most people seem to be recommending the MSI Gaming X Trio but it exceeds your budget.

        I think the ASUS STRIX is definitely the next in line and well within your budget but not sure about stock.

        I heard the one you listed runs a little loud with some coil whine so not sure if that is ideal.

        FPS/Price, I think the Founders edition is best value for money.

        This is me being picky but I'd say get whatever you can get your hands on really.

      Hes playing CSGO for christ sake. A 1060 would do the job fine.

    Does 1080p look bad on your 38” for csgo? im asking since people usually dial down resolution to 1080 and graphics settings for competitive titles like csgo

    Yeah but I came from 1440p which ran great so I won’t want to dial down. I’ll try it later but I feel like it kind of defeats the purpose of having this beast!

    My 1070 runs csgo @ 4K with around 160fps
    16gb ram,
    i7 7th gen

    Maybe a 1080 or even a 1080 Ti would be fine for you? Still great graphics cards :)
