  • Brrr silicone

    • Why, what's wrong with it? (I was thinking about buying some silicone egg rings because metal ones are a pain to clean the egg off.)

I'm more wary of those lid clips. Every time I've seen those on some container, they soon break. Maybe these ones don't but I don't hold out much hope. Manufacturers are busy thinking up how to make us buy replacements sooner. What they don't think about is how people get fed up, vow off their products, and buy another brand (and tell their friends to) that doesn't deliberately make things to break asap.

There's a few choices at Colesworths that regularly go on half price sale. Pyrex, Decor, etc. The Decor lids easily break on their larger containers like the pastry sheet one, but if you make allowances for that after the first one breaks (and they're pretty good replacing broken ones if you contact them), then their smaller containers give a good seal without those clipping/snapping hinges.
