  • Are these anodised pans suitable or appropriate for shallow frying pile chicken schnitzel?
I’m never really clear on materials etc so someone more experienced would be appreciated

    • Yes, I do schnitzels in Circulon frypans once a week or so. Points to be aware of, as with any non stick pan, use an oil with a high burn point (I use rice bran oil) and do not crank the temperature up to the nuke setting (on my induction top, a medium setting of 5 or 6 out of 10 is fine). If you use a low burn point oil like olive oil and/or set the temp up too high, the non stick coating will fail eventually and you will be lucky for it to last longer than a year.

I have had one pan die on me, and I contacted Circulon Australia who stood by their lifetime warranty, gave me full RRP credit for it, enabling me to get a few more from their online store.

Basically, I am very happy with the pans.

  • Here is some interesting reading material: https://www.productreview.com.au/listings/circulon

    • Wow those suck… I was confusing circular… we currently have Analon at home, it seems to have better reviews

I don't think many people really know how to use non-stick pans tbh. They aren't magic

        • Imagine them trying to maintain their cast iron pans

  • The singular pans are half price at Big W currently at about $40 each.

These are pretty terrible - bought a set years ago and they've just got crap stuck in all the circular grooves.
I solely use this Tefal one instead
    Bought for $24.50 08/2020

    • I have the same one. It looked new until 3 or so months in, the bottom of the pan discoloured and now looks burnt. The non stick isn’t as good anymore. I never went above a 6-7 setting for long when cooking.

Maybe I shouldn’t be using olive oil like the post above mentions

This always gets posted as a deal, but it's not really a deal 'cause Myer and DJs only bring these out during mid-season sales/half-yearly sales. They're always $120.

      Exactly this!!! ^

$400 rec retail is absolute rubbish. No one buys them at that price, and the reduced price is close to real value. This isn't a bargain.

      • Cmon don't spoil the 30% belief of RRP value for some people :)

  • Bought these from DJ in the black friday sales for $99 and are happy with them so far especially for the price.

I make sure I clean them straight away as my old scanpan ones got alot of build up after years of use and some neglect.

Never seen these ever sold at more than 1/3 of the RRP.

  • If by "lifetime" they mean ~ 12 months with regular use…

I've bought a few rounds of circulon during similar sales, and they consistently cease to be non-stick a little longer than a year even with following the care instructions, avoiding metal utensils etc

In saying that, they're great to use up until that point. So if you're happy to replace every 12-18 months they're decent enough

    • I'm not a fan of non-stick but if they warrant lifetime, maybe ask them to replace it indefinitely??

  • Been using a set for just over 8 years now and they have been great (purchased on an eBay deal from the UK back in Nov 2012, wow did not realise how old they were until looking that up).

The larger pan we use very often is in need of a replacement, the coating is ok but not as non stick and more as there is burn marks on it… I think because we shallow fry in it at times.. also my wife often browns on very high heat which is not good (we need to get a non-non-stick pan for that.. hahaha)

Anyway I would recommend the pans and from what I recall they got a good rating back in the day by choice when I purchased them…

    Hope it's of help

Just checked Choice again and it's still a 'recommended' pan but bang for the buck they recon to take a look at the cheap "KMART ANKO 24CM FRYPAN" which is cheap as chips… It does have straight sides so it's hard to flip things over but if you looking for a cheap pan that apparently performs quite well this might be worth giving a tgry especially for the price!

      Big dollars alternative pan….Enjoy!:
