Best Stock/Shares Portfolio Tracking App

I'm looking for a simple iPhone app that can track holdings of shares and perform calculation on the value of holdings with profit/loss. The default apple stocks app doesn't let you input holdings so can't do these calculations.

I currently use commsec and it's portfolio tab is very close to what I want but it doesn't let you add non commsec holdings there or allow you edit the purchase price so for mergers, de-mergers and IPOs the purchase price is wrong.

Is there a simple app out there that allows you to input these details and run the calculations? What app do people recommend?

Free plan only allows 10 holdings which is pretty limiting for such basic functionality.

Sorry didn't know you had more than 10 holdings or looking for free alternatives. Good luck.

        • It's still better than nothing and I don't hold more than 10 shares outside of commsec but I'd still like to have it all in one place ( and don't want to pay $360 a year).

      • You don't have to do all your holdings though. I've got SS to do my vdhg which has been confusing as I was doing dividend then switch to DRP. It's been working well.

      • make multiple accounts

  • There's several threads on whirlpool covering this.

Take a look at: FT Portfolios and InvestSmart Portfolios.

They don't have apps, but mobile website might be good enough.

    I use Google Sheets.

I have shares in Aus, US and Europe and none of the available trackers tracked all markets and allowed me to do what I wanted with data manipulation or produce colourful graphs :-) so I created my own based on available templates.

Check out https://thenextweb.com/basics/2020/04/07/holy-sheet-how-to-t… for a good overview and a sample sheet.

    • This is very cool!!! I might look into setting it up.

yahoo finance - you also can add a widget for yahoo finance showing your portfolio on your home screen although time lagged

only con is you cant include a flat trade fee in your calculations, but rather a purchase price only which incorporates that roughly

    • The only issue I see with this is that the portfolio tab is buried under lists and requires 3 taps to get to. Pity the app is loaded with so much other crap and doesn't seem to be customisable.

The widget idea sounds great though!!!

I use a free app called My ASX, nothing amazing but it does the job if you just want to track your portfolio.
