Why do I need to buy heavy rain when it's already happening in real life

      JASON? JAAAASON!

  • Not bad games.

I own them all, but only played Heavy Rain so far. I enjoy story heavy games, so these are my crack.

  • Ohh. It redeems on Steam too!

I unfortunately own these games on the Epic Games store.

  • I remember heavy rain came out around the same time as LA Noire and I was playing both at the time. I couldn't help but fixate on how bad the acting was in heavy rain by comparison.

    • Cage used european actors to play Americans. And they weren't good at the job, and Cage himself wasn't a good enough director to notice. The children were the most egregious. He used french kids who had no acting ability in playing american kids and it just sounded awful. A competent director would not have given the OK to such performances.

He sets all his games in the US, but being french he doesn't have a good ear for how Americans speak, and how it differs from fake Americans imitating it.

In later games he did use some real american actors.

Cage makes games that are sometimes thought provoking but I think the formula is stale and he needs to reinvent himself. I hope his next game isn't another one of these. You can only push a formula so far before people get sick of it, unless it's call of duty or GTA.

    These aren't really "games".

It is as much a game as the COD series are

    • if it's interactive and your actions have agency on the outcome, it's a game. It's not the most engaging game mechanically, but it doesn't need to be.
