Can't cancel my auto-relist option on eBay, they have been charging me a lot of money while nothing sells...

Hi all,

I am just hoping if someone can advise me how I can cancel my eBay auto-relist option, I have checked out the online options and exhausted them as I do not have the features or selections they mentioned as I believe eBay have placed me in a default option (dodgey).

My listings get relisted automatically every 30 days but I have noticed I have been charged around $30 since November (sold one low cost item) and again getting billed for last month December for nearly $30. It is a lot of money considering I have not sold anything, it is very frustrating as I have read online that insertion fees should be free up to 100 listings and I only have around 50 listings.

The lady on ebay chat did nothing but made me wait for her delayed responses (believe she is based in SE country) and said she will email me in 48 hours as she can not find a resolution -.-!

I am hoping someone has a resolution other than ending the listing and relisting them (hopefully it doesn't have the auto-relist option as we are starting fresh!)

Thank you :)

  • Ebay members can get 10 to 500 normal re-listings every month. It sounds like your listenings have options.

  • The number of free insertion fee listings depends on your sale in the past months. I only have 40 this month.

    • That’s good to know, I don’t usually get charged this much though 😔 and I’m just a casual eBay seller.. I think I’ll end the listings closer to the end date before they relist again

      • A casual ebay user with 50 listings?

  • +1

Go to account settings>account activity and see what you're actually being charged for. Maybe you signed up for some subscription or something.

    • Yep, I got charged $1 something and one for $3^ for every item listed for sale as an insertion fee 😞

  • You need to go into the listing and turn off auto relist. Or did they remove that option?

    • I have tried that already :(

  • Thank you all for the responses ☺️

    Just cancel the listing then?

    Head to ebay.com.au

    click on my ebay
    then Selling/sold
    then active
    (or just click https://www.ebay.com.au/mys/active)

then end listing on the item from the drop down menu

  • You can't opt out of auto relisting.

Need to "end the listing" manually after it auto relists.

    Very frustrating.

Another annoying thing about ebay is - after you've listed something for a number of days - they automatically turn on the "make an offer" option on it without your permission.

You then have to go in and edit the listing and turn off that option yourself.

    • Thank you will do before the listing ends, yes that’s true about the offers! I would be like how did it get there 😒 and then I get lowball offers from people lol

      • Just turn off the make an offer option. It does exist. I did that all the time. Look carefully and you can find in the listing options
