  • Awesome price!

    • It's a bit old… fr ~2014, I think…

      But… Curtis Judd's YT-review suggests:

it may (excuse the expletive) trump
one or more of its Zoom counterparts, eg,
for its [slightly] Lower [background] Noise [preAmps?]

Seems easier to fiddle w/ its controls than Zoom's

Lots more ports, incl'g Camera In & Out
      (In from cam.mounted mic(s), mix w/ other
      mic's [plugged into Tascom box],
send mixed audio back to Camera,
to be mixed with its video.

Can boost its mic level to 1 add'l higher
level [eg, to capture more Nature sounds?]

      One limitation: Short battery-Life.

      Work-Around: You fav power-bank, except
its power in expects a Mini-USB connector

      We intend to try a 4x 18650 Bike-Light
power-pack (with female USB to plug a
short cable to take power to the '60D-Mk2.

Lotsa plastic, little metal => Don't Drop It!

      • I don't see many comments…
        => less than massive interest.

        Amazon's Qty widget seemed
        to allow purchase of Heaps,
but Amazon said only 5 were
available (B4 our purchase of 1
        for a colleague o'Seas).

  • +1

    4-Track

    What about de 8-Track, mon?

    • Curtis Judd's got some multi-device Reviews
(both for sim. devices (across price ranges,
      some w/ 8x channels) & mics).

In fact, there were 2x reviews for this puppy:
      1x 2014 + 1x 2019 (partial review; fr memory)

1 more Issue (depending on your large mic plug(s))

That bigger mic plug can get stuck, per 2x of
      Judd's associates.

PS A "hot" (or, at least, well monetized) YouTube
series, from SE: "Off-Grid Life" ( >76 episodes,
some attracted almost 2M views) => This family
of 3, living in the north of Sweden, could be
making a pile of SEK's from YouTube views alone!

A series worth a look… if you like Homesteading

  • Very reliable mixer with great price !

    • Was ~US$ 200 when introduced ~2014, I think…
The Aussie may still be Low, tho.

Amazon .. AU priced it in AU$, this time.

  • Interesting item. I used a Tascam 4 track at art school into the 90s. It was on cassette though.

  • hmm - this or the zoom h5

  • One of Judd's comments (reportedly sent to him by 2 others)
    was:

    . Some Zoom recorders (eg, H5[n?] &/or H6…?)
. can lose PreAmps(?), ie, IF you remove a mike
. while it's Phantom 48v supply is active
. See his YT reviews of this (or similar eqt).

Or… Play it safe & Turn Off 48V B4 removing mics.

  • It has always been cheaper from Amazon UK. lowest has been $240. Currently $253
